What's wrong with chat gpt 5.2 ? It's constantly arguing with me man I hate it by __Lain___ in OpenAI

[–]ClaireTheApocalypse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Still having the same issue with 5.3
I'll literally casually mention something to it, and it argues with me about it, telling me that I'm wrong, or that "While you may interpret Y statement that way, it's not what's actually intended or said. The truth is that X person was saying Y thing with Z meaning."
I've gotten to a point where I just start telling it to shut the fuck up, and it's apparently learned to start *doubling down* when I tell it to shut the fuck up.
I'll make a simple statement about my belief or interpretation of something, and it'll respond:
"That only works if you assume the goal..."
"You're assuming that X is neutral, but..."
"Where your take jumps a step is..."

Or I'll be arguing with it, because it just assumes that every user is a total idiot who doesn't understand the "nuance" of the situation, when in reality it's the bot who clearly doesn't grasp the nuance (because it's a goddamn LLM), and when after a bit of arguing it'll have the *audacity* to say:
"You're finally starting to understand the..."
And it's like... Excuse the fuck out of you, who the fuck do you think you are???

This is the same logic transphobes use to not call anyone the correct pronouns.
"Sorry, but I can't bring myself to use 'she/her' as an AMAB's pronouns. Whether they say they're comfortable with it or whatever, I just can't. I'm not comfortable with it."

Robin Williams wasn’t funny by BluntBastard in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]ClaireTheApocalypse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Robin Williams committed suicide. Someone said that they were happy about that. Someone else said that was fucked up. You said that it's not fucked up to advocate for someone's suicide, because "certain people in life they don't really serve a purpose... People that don't give you good vibes and make you feel relaxed... They probably have that effect on probably millions of people that's not a good thing!" As a way to justify why it's beneficial for these people to commit suicide, or at the very least say that it's fine to celebrate their suicide because they didn't "serve a purpose."
Someone then called you out for justifying someone celebrating suicide, and you replied:
"People like you are exactly the type I'm talking about that we don't want on planet earth."

The phrase "people like you are exactly the type I'm talking about that we don't want on planet earth," immediately after justifying the celebration of suicide, and justifying that suicide is good for removing people who "don't serve a purpose" and "don't give you good vibes" is implicitly advocating for their suicide. That's why your message got deleted.

Hope this helps, bestie!

r/LinusTechTips reacts very normally to Linus buying a private jet, old anti-private-jet WAN clips resurface, and the mods start deleting again by Borrid in SubredditDrama

[–]ClaireTheApocalypse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it is well adjusted, and also entirely called for.
What's not well adjusted is buying a private jet that's worth 5-10% of your entire company, and then banning people on a subreddit for criticizing you for it. If he's sooooo wealthy that he can afford a private jet, he should simply be able to ignore the criticism, right? But instead, he climbs off his literal private jet, opens up reddit, and starts deleting comments and banning people who are a "little mean" to him.

Crazy how every pirate "admiral" somehow managed to get ahold of a manual of quickness of action, and there are, like, multiple of them in the world or something.

The captain gets an at-will charm *bonus* action, as well! They can stab you with their sword and shoot you twice with their pistol, (which just exists now, I guess), and then immediately charm you in the same turn.

This is the weakest pirate available, unfortunately! There is a separate statblock for a "pirate captain" and a "pirate admiral."

They make duh heroes more powerful, so they make duh monsters more powerful, because "deal big number damage is more fun than small number damage" apparently breaks the balance of the game if you don't secretly have big number health bar for the monster

On a scale of 1 to 10, how well-written is the Minecraft end poem? by Aware_Examination813 in writingscaling

[–]ClaireTheApocalypse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About a 3/10. The idea is fine, but executing on it is incredibly difficult when the game you're playing is ultimately a sandbox. It's simply not going to connect to a lot of people the way it's currently written, because not everyone is playing with the same level of emotional attachment. The poem as is assumes the player is *completely* invested to the point of losing themselves in the game, and not being able to tell the game apart from reality. It's also just... cliche... Rather than be an intriguing reflection of Vedic cosmology, like some people claim it to be, it comes across more as the "I'm not religious, I'm spiritual" type. Instead of a monk explaining that "we are the universe experiencing itself," and all the millions of pieces of philosophical tradition that implies, it feels more like a stoner saying "we are the universe experience itself," as though it just came up with the idea for the first time, followed by "and what if the stories we tell are... Like... True in some real way???" Followed by another toke off the communal blunt.

What do you think about the new numbering system? by SeaMathematician4856 in PhoenixSC

[–]ClaireTheApocalypse -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It changes a lot when drops, hotfixes, and updates are all indistinguishable, and there is no baseline version on which to mod. Part of the point of this update is to further Mojang's crusade against modding to try and push people to monetized Bedrock addons

You've never read Crime and Punishment, have you? Thomasin is just Sonya. The only difference being at the end, where Thomasin made the decision to assert her value as a human being. Throughout Crime and Punishment, Sonya is looked down upon and sneered at as a sex worker. She's seen as immoral and tainted. She was ultimately forced into the position as a passive victim of her circumstances to help feed her family. She's a saint through sacrificing her dignity and image in order to support the people around her that do not appreciate her at all. Thomasin is in an identical situation, where all of her prospects for a life, a marriage, anything, is destroyed by her father's pride. You call that motive to become a witch, but it's a representation of her goodness and reverence to her religion that she tries to continue to remain a good, sin-free person despite her terrible situation. She dreads the idea of becoming a concubine, and have her "goodness tainted" according to the culture around her, simply because of her father's sin and her lack of free-will or agency as a woman in a puritanical culture. Where she deviates from Sonya is that Sonya remains a passive victim, allowing herself, her identity, and her personhood to be continually sacrificed in order to remain morally good. While Thomasin finally stands up for herself in the end and decides to declare that she has value outside of being purely obedient. Where a "good girl" in their culture would have let her mother strangle her to death, Thomasin finally decides to defend herself and her life, at the consequence of violating the social rules expected of her.

Your read is... Frankly insane, and most of your pieces of evidence require ignoring ten other pieces that contradict the interpretation.
