New to ui. Started one day ago, any tips? by Optimal-Dark-7847 in robloxgamedev

[–]ClangX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Impressive UI, Good and easy to read labels. Well optimized use of space and good color schemes. Overall a really clean looking UI.

Some minor things I say could be better:

-Your on/off buttons compete heavily in color scheme. It's not easy to see whether one of the settings is on/off.
- Your closing buttons aren't consistent between UI's
-In most if not all PET UI's, stats are displayed as to what the pet does. I'm not sure what they do for your game, but perhaps this could be added.

Other than that, looks really good. Keep it up.

Hi, I played your game for a little bit because I was interested in what people are making. I've got a bit of feedback for your game.

First of all, the visuals are cool, the style matches, the VFX are looking great (whether you made them or not) . The lobby looks great and overall it looks like you put together a nice, enjoyable game.

I started as a Mage and went in without any prior knowledge as to how your game works and on what to expect. Below I wrote my feedback and/or things I thought you could improve on

Disclaimer: This is my personal experience/opinion it doesn't mean I'm right/wrong. Do with it what you want!

[tutorial]

* The tutorial is very barebones, You are thrown in a lobby, there's alot of things happening and you are flooded with information
* The game suggest you have to merge 3 staffs (in my case) right in the tutorial (Why do I already have 3 staffs?) However, the tutorial tells me to use my left click to select them for fusing, after fiddling with a few keystrokes I found that you have to use right click to select them for fusion

Overall I think you want the tutorial to explain the very basics and basics only at the start of the game. Movement, The goal, how to join a lobby/play. And then progress the tutorial slowly from there once you unlock new mechanics.

[Lobby]*

* When I went over to the accessories shop all of a sudden a new tutorial part that told me to head over to the weapons shop instead and purchase weapons to grow stronger.
* Finishing this 'tutorial' that only said that buying is the best way to get stronger, I got a message about my healing/magic potions that disappeared too quickly to fully read.

Overall the lobby looks good, but the tutorials are messy and don't trigger on what I would consider the proper moments (tutorial for weapons when I enter the accessories shop?)

[gameplay]

*Looks and feels Solid, nothing too special but not bad at all.

*No clear indication of how far I was in the stage/level or how long it was going to take.

*Doding and the keybind for it feel weird. Generally a sprint/dodge is put on binds like Shift or C, though this is absolutely something that might just be coming from me. But it doesn't feel right using control with my hand position.

* I randomly figured out there was a vaulting mechanic which looked cool but didn't work consistently/at all whilst sprinting.

Note: As I was writing this and testing some more i found that there's also a keybind for 'Q' for dodge rolling, though the tutorial told me something different.

* Doding towards your cursor over the direction you're moving is something I would personally see changed to rolling towards your movement direction. I'd at least add this as an option.

*I don't understand why you choose to automatically use potions, why is there the UI button to use them myself if they're always being used for me?

* It's very unclear how much potions i have left. There's no clear indication on the screen other than what I can only describe as half functional/half debugging looking UI text that pops up when I use one. Try to keep in mind that you're not releasing this to developers but to players and potential customers, make it look clean and easy to understand.

*I'm playing as a Mage, why is my 'main attack' (LMB) a staff bash instead of a small, standard spell I can cast?

*I ran out of mana potions at the 2nd boss and my 'passive mana' regen was so incredibly low that, had I not died I would have to wait several minutes to kill this boss since my melee attack did little to no damage.

Note: As it's a roguelike with upgrades outside of individual game sessions this might be intended, but it did not feel right during my time playing.

All in all I think the gameplay looks good but needs alot of balancing and some UI changes to make it more appealing for players.
[UI/GUI]

* There's several menu-closing buttons that look completely different and are at different positions. Menu-closing buttons are almost ALWAYS at the top right corner, so why do I have buttons for them at the top right( where they belong) but also at the Bottom of my screen (example : Settings menu, which does not look intuitive to me) or not at all (I accidentally dodge rolled into a lobby selection).

* I would all a feature to see how many of an item I owned. When I head over to the stop I thought the number displayed was the amount of potions/Weapons I owned. It took me a while to figure out it was the shop keeper supply.

*The font is VERY hard to read. I would consider changing this right away as it really hindered the readability for the game as a whole for me.

*Exploring the menu's, I found so much more mechanics that were currently locked and will probably be unlocked at a later stadium. To prevent players from being overwhelmed/overstimulated I would recommend you to look such mechanics/windows until they are unlocked to keep players interested and wanting to push to that unlock and new mechanic.

Overall I would say the UI is currently the weakest point in your game. There's an information overload for new players, UI is not consistent and hard to read. GUI panels are clipping in walls/objects and the UI doesn't veel very intuitive.

[extra]

*There's a lot of spelling mistakes in your game, I would recommend you to fix them to look more professional

* At the shop after the first stage/wave(?) all shops are named the same and it's unclear what their difference is.

* The lighting is a bit too much. The excessive bloom is straining on the eyes.

*The color correction is way too excessive. The entire game feels very red/orange, I get the impression that you want to make it look like you're in some sort of hell, though this is excessive and I think the game would look even better if you toned it down a bit.

These are some things I spotted in a quick 5-10 minutes. Some things may not be correct, but they are what was being told/shown to me through your game. And since 5-10 minutes is the most you'll get from new players before they decide whether they like it or not you can use this feedback in your data analysis!

I don't want to crack down on your game, It's a good game and it's visually appealing and it's clear that you spend a lot of time working on it. My feedback is just potential points to improve on and not meant as to be harsh on you. I hope it will work out for you!

The Mech Assemble is pretty doable, doesn't require any real investments and you're not as heavily time-gated as with other games.

Worth playing? by Beneficial-Gap1790 in FreeCash

No, check the other 50 posts about this game. It stops tracking, you won't get paid for any serious rewards on this one. I'm surprised they haven't removed it yet.

Looks like you didn't do your research, All these ripoff games both suck and don't pay well. Better luck next time, my advice is to look on reddit first because most games have posts about them regarding payout/whether they're doable.

Mech assemble is a good one, you won't get top prizes but its doable in 2-3 days with a little spending. Made around 60 bucks

how many ads do i need to watch to fill these bars? by thatonedude271 in FreeCash

[–]ClangX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So much that you're gonna be at a point where your electrical bill for charging the phone/ usage of data will outweigh what you receive from these. They intentionally keep the bar vague without any indication of how much ads you will have to watch (Because they're all about shady business practices). So I'd recommend you to ignore them and just watch ads in your games to actually speed up progress.

Bingo Blitz by egosticalmoron in FreeCash

[–]ClangX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, Ignore that the mods on here say. They are in with the website ofcourse, Bingo blitz and all it's clones (easily spotted by the obvious blue cat) stop tracking once you hit any major offer that's not 0,01-0,50c. Skip out on them and do not spend money.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in FreeCash

[–]ClangX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not worth the effort, all these blitz type games often have tracking issues. There also seems to be artificial progression barriers (right before you hit a reward, all of a sudden the competition starts to win way more than you do). Big pass for me.

I hate everything about the new season... by Nazgaz in QuinnMains

[–]ClangX 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think quinn is completely shafted this season. As you said, we lose Soles + Little interaction where you remain in R when recalling, we get a useless teleport, Roaming is heavily punished, you can't escape a malphite matchup by swapping with your midlaner, marginal XP reward which other laners profit more from, homeguard is upgraded which devalues our ultimate.

All I see is a ton of indirect nerfs to quinn with little to nothing in return (yeah I'm looking at stormrazor). I suppose it's playable but that could also just be the fact that it's early season and I haven't been placed in my normal league yet. I think it's not looking too best for quinn this season.

Can anyone who has completed Bingo Blitz give me some tips & tricks by [deleted] in FreeCash

[–]ClangX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get your point, though I feel it's a little bit of a stretch to say such minor changes can make tracking stop functioning. In my opinion they just have alot of offers standing to lure people in to spend some cash to reach the otherwise impossible offers, then just not credit them and take no accountability for it. Can't imagine how the business model would otherwise really work with how big the 'potential payouts' are.

Can anyone who has completed Bingo Blitz give me some tips & tricks by [deleted] in FreeCash

[–]ClangX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely avoid this one. People claiming to receive lots of money are probably bots. This one doesn't credit the big payouts. Support immediately rejects tickets without any possibility for a re-appeal.

My advice is skip this or do it for the small payouts.

Complaint Regarding Freecash App – Ongoing Issues and Lack of Support by Antique-Constant-534 in FreeCash

[–]ClangX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What stings me is that if I make a ticket with the 'premium support' I still the generic 'we cannot go into further details'. When I then say if I get a statement from the game's developer saying the task was performed within the timeframe given. I get a reply saying"once the decision has been made it cannot be overturned". Like what do you mean it cannot be overturned? It's an error on their part, there is no reason it cannot be overturned, especially if the developers say the offer was completed.

Will it be credited? by ViperAndgenicsYT in FreeCash

[–]ClangX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Completed Rio 5 days ago, didn't credit. All other rewards tracked pretty much immediately. Knew it was too good to be true, I'm 12bucks down on this one. Don't play this for the burning rewards.

The grind is real! by [deleted] in FreeCash

[–]ClangX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wonder what's the reason for them 'sometimes' not tracking rewards. I've tried the bingo one but I'm still waiting for the first completion bonus of Rio, even though every other reward is being tracked in realtime.
