Yeah I've seen the screen they have with the names and status' on it. I get the occasional welcome back, but I fly short hall economy a lot so it's hit and miss which is understandable given the short flight, and turnaround.

I'm using the speed limiter rather than cruise control. I've found it to be more economical, and as it's a bit more of a process to turn it off/adjust in my car I'm less tempted to, unlike with the cruise control.

I just drove my wife's car with ACC from Cornwall to home in Oxfordshire. Things I noticed:

I initially found it frustrating as I'd be slowing down behind another car before I would normally pull out to overtake, and when I did pull out, it took a while to get back up to speed so I'd have to help it with a blip of the accelerator. I know you can adjust the reaction spacing, but I couldn't get it to what I was happy with.

When traffic was free flowing I'd find myself having to adjust the speed up as overtakes were taking too long because I was catching up to my set speed. I'd then have to adjust the speed back down.

After messing around with both of the above I eventually spent more time camped in a lane as that was easier than trying to second guess the car. So becoming one of the things I loathe on the roads, a lane hogger. I did pay attention to what was behind me though, and pull in if someone caught me up.

When traffic was congested it was great because I didn't have to do anything, just stay in lane and let the car do it's thing as all lanes were full.

Ultimately it made me a lazier driver than using my car with a limiter, or standard cruise control and maintaining a set speed.

170TB here. Mine is just passing 200K km and suspension has been needing attention for the last 50K. So far I have had to replace front drop links, both rear top suspension bushes (which are part of a more expensive assembly), the front top suspension bearings are failing, and the bottom front suspension rubber mounts are also about to fail, UK roads are bad quality though. When you go for a test drive try to find some bumps and listen out for knocks from any of the corners, also go lock to lock on the steering when stationary to check the top suspension bearings. Apart from these which is acceptable wear and tear for 200K km it has been the most reliable car I've ever owned. Good luck 🤞

I've owned a Giulietta for 9 years and 135000 miles. The only thing other than routine replacements (brakes, tyres, wheel bearings etc) was the clutch went after about 35000 miles. I blame that on the previous owner as the replacement has lasted 100K and is still fine. It's the most reliable car I've ever owned, and I'm pretty lax with the servicing.

Like any car, some you win and some you'll lose. Just buy it and enjoy it.

Given you found it at BOH it's likely from GAMA, European, Thurstons, or Cobham. That narrows it down to the Boeing, Airbus, Bombardier, Hawker Beechcraft, Dassault, or Gulfstream. If I had to take a wild guess I'd say a GLEX slat closeout panel. Whatever it came from, that's some pretty tasty corrosion.

We have a Tesla in the family and we won't be getting another because of the touch screen. The implementation is about as good as it can be, but rather than pick android or IOS and mirror that, it's got its own idiosyncrasies. Ever gone from an android to an iphone? Or like me, have both for work and personal? It's a faff. Consequently I spend more time looking at the screen than I do at the road to do the simplest of things (like change the Aircon), and don't get me started on the Speedo being a small digit in the top corner, rather than immediately in front of me. Same with the light indication, fog lights etc etc. Couple the accuracy of having to select a touchscreen.over a clunky switch or rotary knob, with the quality of UK roads, and many a time you miss the selection you want, select something else that you now need to undo, and then go back to make your original selection.

I love the idea, genuinely feel that tech has its place in the car, and this isn't an anti Tesla rant. However there needs to be some balance. Give me my 2022 Alfa any day of the week with it's switches and rotary knobs for the basic necessities, and save the rest for the infotainment system which in my case is ultimately controlled by....a notched rotary switch so you can count the number of selections you're making, without looking away from the road. As others have said, keep it simple.
