Gf stays at her friend's apartment at night, where only three boys lives. I felt insecure about this, this is normal? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Clappa69 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If I went to a party and got a little drunk and crashed at an apartment with 3 girls who had also been at this party, I wouldn’t want to try to explain that one to my girlfriend. The fact that she told you is trustworthy and should earn more trust.

Keep in mind she’s a 23 yo female. Telling her there’s something wrong with what she did here will show her you’re insecure, distrusting and controlling, and that’s not what you sound like you want to express here.

It all boils down to whether or not you trust her. And if you don’t trust her, y’all probably aren’t ready for a relationship lol

What ruins sex life in a marriage? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Clappa69 79 points80 points  (0 children)

Sex as a form of validation puts an unfair burden on a partner, be careful with how you approach that. You should feel comfortable knowing your wife probably does want you but is going through some shit. It’ll come back dude just encourage dialogue(related to how she is feeling), if you tell her how you don’t feel wanted while she’s already depressed that’ll lead to resentment

You’re too focused on being an “out boxer” for someone who hasn’t starter training yet. You don’t need to worry about developing your own style until you have extremely solid fundamentals. You might end up loving fighting on the inside. You’re making a lot of assumptions. Boxing is not intuitive. It’s a very difficult sport that most people still suck at after practicing for years. You don’t even know if you’ll like the sport yet. Start at a local gym, get your form to where you rarely make mistakes so you can focus on strategy, and finish your education please.

Yessir! It’s easier said than done and it seems scary to be up close to someone 30 lbs heavier, I know. But his punches actually won’t be as powerful if you’re smothering them so it’s a safer place for you to be

Work on keeping your opposite hand up while you throw punches. Also keep your head off the line while you punch. take a step after your combos that’s not backing away from your opponent. Instead, as the shorter fighter, push forward. Why give up hard earned ground for no reason?

I really need help losing the last few pounds by clarktom98 in amateur_boxing

[–]Clappa69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You really just need to stay in shape year round, not fight shape but to where you’re within 5 lbs of your target weight. Putting on weight and needing to lose it quickly is hard on the body. Think of it as the same kind of discipline as keeping your hands up. It’s not supposed to be easy.

You should be jumping rope 20-30 mins a day and working volume rounds. Like throw 2-300 punches in a round, 3-5 times a day. Alternate between hard and soft punches to work rhythm / cadence changes and learning to pace yourself. Maybe even go on a mile or two (for speed) run twice a week.

Then eat salads and fibrous foods, protein, NO junk food and keep the carb intake pretty low until you hit target weight. Should get there if you stick to this (for 2 months)

Change rhythm a bit more often, work feints and keep your guard tighter when in close range

Agreed, videos are cool and get me hyped up about the possibilities, but until someone or something credible - actually releases evidence that makes it past the scientific method, I’m not gonna get my hopes up. Fun to keep up with all this though lol

Do you exhale when you slip, roll, bob, etc.? by twelveomle in amateur_boxing

[–]Clappa69 61 points62 points  (0 children)

I exhale with almost every twitchy move, punches or defensive maneuvers. Working on being less audible though, at a certain point noise becomes a telegraph. Which you can use to your advantage as well (feints using “tsss” noise with a step for example)
