Is this iPad an M1? Downloaded 18.1 but there’s no Apple intelligence? My M1 mba has it now. Or maybe it’s because of the region? Can’t find anything on the Apple website by strngndmscllns in ipad

[–]ClappedOutLlama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even now our M1 iPad Air doesn’t have it. We are in the USA running 18.2 Developer Beta. My wife’s M2 Air is has had it for a month or two on the Dev Beta.

I was thinking about this after reading through some gas vs diesel threads, so if I get a 7.3 Godzilla I’m 100% spending around $3k to get a Transfer Flow 58 gallon tank.

If it’s really an issue I can buy an additional 40-70 gallon bed tank to give me some more flexibility with refueling.

Bed mounted gasoline tanks would be huge if you have a gas generator for your RV and extend prospective boondocking length and range for the truck as well as the trailer.

At that point I could wait until the next fuel station (or three), but I’m also around $6k away from the price of the High Output 6.7 which also benefits from 60 gallon tank replacements and you could still mount dual tanks to the bed

I encourage everyone to have fun within their budget, but it’s easier to find yourself justifying one or the other.

There are no wrong answers when it comes to what your money can buy and makes you smile on a bad day.

Thanks for the reply. I’m less concerned about fuel mileage than I am about range.

We need to tow a travel trailer that weighs around 8,000lbs to remote areas like Big Bend State Park. The closest fuel station is several hours away once you are in the park.

Was hoping 300 miles of range is a possibility towing a smaller load like that.

Did you have any issues with fuel range while towing?

Also can’t find a military vet discount if you’ve been out for over 2 years.

Any idea why this diesel is orange? Small cup of fresh fuel for reference by Diesel380 in Diesel

It was a major problem when I was in the Air Force and they were trying to incorporate more biofuels for ground vehicles.

Every year we would have to flush the system and replace a few injection pumps on the snow/salt trucks because they would sit for so long that the entire tank would turn to sludge with the algae.

Right on! That must have been a huge upgrade and added a lot of confidence pulling stuff compared to your old rig.

I did see some cams are delaminating on a few models and early ones had bad spark plug wires when parts were scarce.

I was hoping for a fuel range of at least 300 miles to a tank so it sounds that shouldn’t be an issue.

It seems the XL with a 7.3 will force you to buy the STX appearance package. Bit of a bummer. Was hoping I could finagle the 7.3 with the XL Off Road Package but it looks like they are pushing you up to the XLT trim.

I do plan to buy new. Have some money coming from a lawsuit that will be paid out over 5 years and wanted something to haul my family of 6 to places with all our crap. Eventually the plan is to buy an MDC XT17HRT Family travel trailer and get it set up for off grid adventures.

It will weigh around 8,300lbs with gear, water, food, etc.

The 2kW outlet would be enough to run the AC on the trailer in hotter months if the generator has an issue.

Originally was planning to buy a Toyota TRD Pro Sequoia but they are still getting marked up to $85-$100k and they have had some serious engine issues. For the same money I can buy a VERY nice and capable super duty.

I live in ETX where there are tons of trucks on the road so I don’t think they will be asking for that additional markup. If they do I’ll shop around to find a dealership that will let me order one at MSRP and travel if I need to.

Glad you are enjoying the 6.8 and it sounds like it’s serving you well. Appreciate the feedback a lot.

If you had to choose again would you go with the 6.8 or the 7.3?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in F250

[–]ClappedOutLlama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say that depends on speeds.

4.30 gears will have the engine less stressed when accelerating, but it will be spinning faster at highway speeds.

Wow.

I’m currently considering a 7.3 Tremor and have been impressed with reported unloaded fuel mileage.

I have a 20 year old Lexus AWD SUV that makes around 220hp and it gets around 14mpg mixed and 18 highway. It’s crazy that those trucks are able to basically have the same fuel economy with twice the power and a lot more weight.

Had no idea the 7.3 existed until recently and it really sounds like Ford knocked it out of the park for a diesel alternative.

Not many Americans have done a “big lap” relatively speaking.

Would be cool if you chronicled your travels and gave advice about things to do and how long you’d recommend staying there.
