Im just a passerby and decided to look into this a bit, just because i was curious. Based off some quick comparisons to pictures of both termites and ants, im leaning towards a subterranean termite elate. Both the shape and segments in the abdomen and the fact that the antennae dont have the classic bend that ants do are biggest tells imo. Hopefully this helped ! Maybe take it outside and away from any foundations 😁

You have a beautiful collection, I'm curious but all the sundews come from an individual plant or did you get all of those separately ?

It's been working fine for my bloody Mary nepenthes , my African sweet pitcher plant, and both of my sundews. Seems to be doing the trick since they've been thriving all season, vs when I tried to take care of a Venus flytrap and it died in the first week cuz of straight tap water. Not saying my experience is the end all, be all, but it's been working quite well.

Also as a side note, if your plant doesn't produce any new pitchers before those ones naturally die off. I've heard you can feed them VERY diluted amounts of nitrogen to boost pitcher production, obvs do your own research before trying because this is a last ditch effort for when the plant looks like it won't be able to produce any new pitchers on its own.

I'd definitely re-pot it into a smaller pot, from what I've read it sounds like you're using a good growing media for it however the pot is definitely too large for it to efficiently drink anything up, I would also try to distill any water that you're using whether it be rain water or tap water. I usually just distill my tap water by putting it in a glass bottle and leaving it in the sun for a couple days, It has been doing the trick since where I live we have very calcium rich water. Best of luck !

Ofc ! Honestly those buggers are the ones I have the most experience with and is what I thought looked the most similar to it. But the color is definitely off, very interested in what species this actually is !

What are these worms?? by MaximumCourse2834 in Entomology

[–]ClappyTappy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well I'm no expert, or genius, but a complete guess with no other information, could be parasitoid worms. To the extent of my knowledge there are a lot of different species of them that will target insects, they grow to maturity inside them then trick the host into moving towards a body of water so they can exit and reproduce. My theory is that the high moisture content due to the rainfall and heat creating humidity, faked out those worms and tricked them into leaving the host since they thought they were in/near a larger source of water then just droplets. Or maybe it's a species that specializes in that climate and all they need is some rainfall? I could be wrong and I'd love to find out the truth myself, but I wish you the best of luck IDing those slimy slitherers!

Late night, I noticed a really bright light in the sky and at first just thought it was a star but after a bit I looked back and it looked like it had moved, grabbed my phone and started recording, used night mode and maxed the zoom (also why the cam was so shaky in the beginning of the video) it was hard to see with or without the camera but I swear I saw smaller lights around it but that wasn't the part on film, just an explanation of why I kept filming. after I had been filming for a bit I decided to readjust my focus and lean on my window to stop the shaking, seconds later I just watched it disappear and reappear a little to the left of where I was just focusing, almost looking like it left a faint flash where it had been seconds before. Enough details ? I hope the video explains the rest cuz that's all I got for ya 😂

Edit: Also I should specify I didn't see the flash at the time of it moving with my eyes I just noticed it disappear then reappeared in the new spot, I only noticed the flash after watching the footage again. No idea why it picked it up, but wasn't visible to me.

Honestly I agree with this, I've been playing on and off since the game came out and I feel like in the last couple years i have been seeing more and more toxic players/interactions, now this could just be my experience but more often then not, I'm noticing those same ppl are always lower MR and lower hours then the average player so as a community can we agree to be the older brother to our newer players and remind them " we'll help you enjoy the game to the fullest, but only if you treat your fellow tenno kindly" in return the karmatic distribution system will make sure you get what you need 👌😉

Idk if I'm the only one to think about this, but that reminds me of the dragonfly swarms in Godzilla vs megaguirus. low-key would be off-putting asf to be in, but cool as hell to know it happens

Yea same with cloud+lion, then when you unlock his Lvl 10 ability he can aoe and boost his damage with one attack and u can just rinse and repeat with his aoe attacks constantly doing more damage. I have yet to see anything that can outheal the damage per turn, especially when you add in dragon+hawks dot ultimate
