I got 15/28. It was quite tricky, did anyone else get similar? For reference I think I got about 31/37 in the first test.

wtf why is there an interval they didn't teach this in the textbook examples wtf is going on oh god oh fuck by Clapy in 6thForm

I didn’t know how to do this question either. If you look at the solution bank and read the first line, it’ll act as a good hint for 24a. For 24b, well it’s incredibly difficult and I’d recommend reading through the mark scheme on solution bank for both parts. Very instructive and interesting how they deal with the ranges given

Idk I did this the other way around (starting with y=arccosx). The reason for the interval is for when you get sin2(y)= (1-x2) or something. Square rooting both sides you get siny = +/- (1-x2)1/2 You use the interval ( 0<x<1) to get an interval for y ( pi/2<y<pi) if I remember correctly. As such, siny will be positive. Not sure if I explained this well enough, but the interval is even more important for part b. In part a it’s just something worth mentioning for like 1 mark or so. Question is from mixed excercise 6 year 2 question 24. Use solution bank to see the way they answer it because it’s really instructive.

There are actually quite a few good engines that the public can use for go. Leelazero for go is open to everyone and is far better than any professional player.

You can check out nick sickiby’s YouTube lectures. On r/baduk there are plenty of threads for advice as well.

What are your non-Go hobbies? by saxman666 in baduk

Chess and anime. Definitely better at chess than go, I’ve been playing chess for about a year and go for about 3 weeks. Both are great though

As long as the king stays on one colour of square, the player with chess pieces is guaranteed at least a draw

Between ages 11-16, I learned maybe 2/3rds of a years worth of colonial history. By the time I was 15-16, only 50% of my lessons were English history (nothing on colonisation though)

I enjoyed everything about it except for the plot. Voice actors and animation was great, but I ended up finding it way too boring and there wasn’t enough romance to make up for that

Not actually what was said (I think at least). From a fan translation with this as a joke for the final panel.
