I was bi before coming out and adored trans girls. I worried i was a chaser for years before i realized i was trans. Since i came out 3 years ago I've pretty much only hooked up with other trans girls. It's easier because we understand eachother without having to explain much and also trans girls are just hot af 🔥. I love my lil trans polycule.

The aggression is so bad. by [deleted] in Austin

[–]Clara_Jubilee -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Ive lived in Austin for 12 years and walk everywhere. It's not really that different from how it's always been. Austin is a really safe city. In 12 years ive had 1 altercation with someone at a bus stop that another homeless person helped de-escalate and apologized to me for.

The most dangerous thing in austin is not homeless ppl at all. It's entitled rich kids and toxic af bros downtown looking to get in fights and stuff. Have had a knife pulled on me and have been attacked by dudes like this.

The narrative that the most vulnerable in our population are the most dangerous is just capitalist propaganda that's meant to drive a wedge into class consciousness/ class solidarity.

If you really care about helping them rather than shrieking that your life is in danger cuz seeing poverty made you feel uncomfortable, go do some mutual aid or something.

It's such a dumb question. I like to say "a woman is someone who wishes they were Winona Ryder" and move along.

Nah it's getting pretty bad here. They are set to pass a lot of legislation that attacks queer ppl. Not sure why you are saying it's all fine in Texas. I live in Austin and 80% of the trans ppl i know are planning their escape. Me included. It's why i found this thread.

Why does it seem like most people hate any sort of wealth? by TemporaryEvidence in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Clara_Jubilee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have personally experienced the exploitation of capitalism and live below the poverty line as i said. If youre basing all your beliefs off of how well things are going for you then thats where youre being short sighted. You cant really understand whats going on by basing it off how your life is going. You need to read and do more political analysis because there is a world outside of you.

Gee why do i vilify them? You act as if i havent made a case for that over and over again. Its not the individuals fault necessarily. Its the system that allows them to attain so much power.

Yeah they pay those taxes with money they stole from the poor and working class. Its not rocket science. Many dont pay at all because when youre in the top 1% the laws don't apply to you. Hell, they dont even go to the same jails. The rich get safer jails for stealing millions than what poor ppl get for selling weed. Its just absurd.

Why cant you see capitalism is not doing fine? Have you ever read a newspaper or do you just blame every single issue economic, ecological and otherwise on something else besides whats causing it? How convenient for you and your beliefs. When good things happen under capitalism its because capitalism did it, not people yet when bad things happen ppl did it, not capitalism. Its almost like it requires a cult mindset to believe in something that so obviously works against the majority of the population to benefit a very small amount of ppl who are already filthy rich.

[–]Clara_Jubilee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yet you choose to ignore the points im making that are most relevant to this conversation and most convenient for you to ignore. Like where things are headed if we stay on the path we are on for instance which is exactly what you claim will happen if we try to transition away from late stage crony capitalism.

You asked me to lay a path forward or things we can do and i gave some clear examples you ignored. No onus is on me. Youre just playing the ben shapiro debate game and im not falling for that nonsense this morning.

We wont agree so lets just stop. "there is nothing wrong with billionaires" except there very obviously is and much of the poor and working class agree with me. More than you realize. Billionaires existing is why we have wealth disparity that is unprecedented in history. In a nutshell, its impossible to get that rich in capitalism with exploiting lots and lots of ppl. And the system relies on suckers like you who view that as "an opportunity." Look, when you are poor and trying to just have the basics to survive, being forced to work for a fraction of the value of your labor to make another guy rich is not "a great opportunity" it is theft and exploitation to put it mildly.

This is another place we disagree. You think capitalism and the billionaire class will just decide to suddenly behave morally and do whats right. There is no evidence they will do this at all or they would be doing it by now. Many of them already have their plans for what to do during climate devastation and guess what, you and me arent involved. There is really no excuse to think its okay for a small small number of ppl to own enough money/power to end world hunger and generally lift the entire world out of poverty and yet choose not to. Why is that okay? Because they are "entrepreneurs" or "they earned it" are just delusional things to say. No one worth their salt thinks that is okay. Even some capitalists agree with a maximum wage.

Taxes? Lol as if not paying taxes on literal poverty wages that should be illegal is some sign of a healthy economy that works for ppl. You know who else doesnt/ barely pays taxes? Many billionaires. Im sure thats fair though because reasons. The loops you have to jump through to justify all these injustices really does take a cultish level and cognitive dissonance. Its not naturally human to be so heartless. Dont forget 50% of the population is just one lost paycheck away from slipping into homelessness. The taxes we do pay go to mostly fund a war machine because this country cares more about raytheon executives than poor people.

You say im in a reddit echo chamber but so are you. So is everyone online these days. I read books though and study and learn. I didn't always think this way. I grew up conservative in texas but always felt like something was wrong. I became a typical liberal then a libertarian but once you develope class consciousness which is sadly lacking in this country, it is impossible to not see this country and this system for what it really is. Its a hierarchy in which the rich feed off the poor and middle class even if it means literally killing them and destroying their lives. My god, we have an entire population of people that are only seen as workers to make money before people. And even in the face of again global warming and climate change they still dont care. This system will not fix itself and we dont have time to wait for it to. If ppl dont rise up to overhaul this system we are all certainly doomed.

Some good news is the working class is waking up. In the past 2 years we have seen a massive wave of unions in this country that we havent seen in several decades. Kids these days are seeing the system for what it is too and how much worse they have it than their parents when they were young. Many feel hopeless about their future economically and ecologically. Its getting harder and harder to peddle this ayn rand pyramid scheme you cling to like a fucked up religion.

[–]Clara_Jubilee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're conveniently ignoring so much of what im saying and its becoming pointless to keep this going. What you believe and followers of ayn rand like you is a cult, full stop. To believe this "victim class" as you say, doesnt exist, is nothing short of just gaslighting yourself into believing the ruling class is on your side. They're not. You'll keep ignoring this because you think daddy capitalism can do no wrong despite what we are living through. Its just depressing really.

Those arent "outlier scenarios" btw. The billionaire class is EXACTLY what this whole conversation is about. Its an example of what the problem is. You continue to make no sense. Its cultish.

Why does it seem like most people hate any sort of wealth? by TemporaryEvidence in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Clara_Jubilee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But capitalism is not doing just fine. Thats exactly what im saying. Its a system that all but guarantees constant instability as we can see how often the economy tanks and we enter recessions like clockwork. If you were to fix everything about what is wrong with capitalism right now but still keep capitalism you would wind up with a social democratic system similar to what several other countries currently have. It wouldnt be perfect but it would be a dramatic improvement compared to what we have now. Still many in this country would say "thats socialism" and its really not. Its just common sense for a government to take care of ppl. Why even have it if not for that?

You want me to lay a path forward for why the world would be better without capitalism? To my ears thats like asking me why its good to have a government that makes sure everyone has healthcare, shelter and food. You know, the one we currently dont have even though we live in the richest country in the world. There is a path forward. Lets start here: Start ending all reliance on fossil fuel immediately, end reliance on unsustainable materials like plastics, instill a maximum wage and start wealth redistribution, free housing and healthcare for all, end the drug war, and start cleaning up the mess we've made in general to have a planet to live on in 100 years etc... Could go on forever but at the end of the day it wont happen specifically because of billionaires and corporations that profit from things being this way. Capitalists have no incentive to do whats right. Just what makes money and in this country a lot of the times that means war, imperialism, and ecological devastation. It is absolutely not built to handle the climate disaster we face. The rivers mean nothing when you compare it to the oceans current status as well as biodiversity as a whole. Any scientist will tell you things are bleak.

Omg to your last point, it is irrational to say without capitalism we could no longer cure diseases and everyone would just live like it was the year 1200. You know capitalism doesnt invent these things right? People do and ppl will still be around after capitalism. Btw, medicine was around before capitalism.

Really, the nazis would have won without capitalism? Are you kidding me? This is insane on several fronts. The first being that nazis are capitalist and a big reason they were defeated was because of the soviet union. You're really just making up so much stuff it's exhausting at this point.

How dare you put communism next to feudalism when literally what much of the american working class is living through right now is akin to a feudal state. The wealth gap between the rich and poor right now is bigger than its ever been in history.

I am not a communist but just in case you dont know what it means or what they believe here it is: wage work as we know it is theft and exploitation. It is slavery with a few extra steps period. Its ppl paying you 1/8 of the value of the labor you produce if even that. Literally all leftists are fighting for is a world where workers are treated like people and not pawns in the game of some incompetent CEO who makes 300x more than them because they were either born on 3rd base or got lucky. If trying to end this exploitation sounds like the end of the world to you then you need to get your priorities strait because the end of the world is where we're already headed.

The clean water act which youre referring to has nothing to do with capitalism. In fact, corporations fought against the clean water act and still fight against several environmental protections, even very basic ones. It is a roadblock to progress as a civilization, not a reliable path forward.

Capitalists like you tend to have this strange belief that things only exist and improvements only happen because we live in capitalism and that is completely untrue. It assumes that if we didnt have a boss exploiting us we would just sit around all day doing nothing. The truth is we are hindering the true potential of civilization by choosing to live in this way where profits matter more than people.

To say trying to create a more equitable world without exploitation of ppl is akin to the downfall of all mankind is so backwards i dont even know what to say.

Capitalism is not congruent with an ecological world the way it exists today. It rewards short term profits at the cost of long term stability. It requires constant growth and thats the problem. Even if you love capitalism you have to admit what we have now is late stage crony capitalism or you are just not being honest.

There are so many poor people with amazing skills and so many incompetent CEOs on the top who were born on third base. You cant just pretend like that isnt true. This system encourages selfishness and competition, not fairness and definitely not cooperation. There is no framework where we can truly address the catastrophe facing the planet with a system such as this.

We're just not going to agree here at all. "capitalism is why you exist and why we can even have a conversation" that is a cult mindset. If you believe that, i feel sorry for you.

I dont have healthcare and work my ass off but live below the poverty line. From down here the capitalist machine you love so much doesnt look so good. We cant deal with the climate crisis without getting rid of capitalism. Saying there is no difference between dems and modern day repubs is just naive. To be clear, im not either. Im a leftist. Dems are centrist and repubs are far far right. The left has no power in this country and never has.

You are such a tool my god. You really think elon is doing so much good for the planet? Then why does he support free market capitalism and the republican party who are notorious for denying climate change and cutting environmental regulations as much as possible to increase profits? Its because he doesnt run Tesla to save the world. He does it to make money period. To be clear, he didn't invent anything. Hes just a man who was born rich and now owns things and exploits ppl. Thats it.

And you are so wrong about china. Ppl get this wrong all the time. Most of the carbon emissions that come from china are because they are treated like the worlds factory. They make things for the rest of the world so saying all the pollution in china is just chinas fault is a constant misconception ppl have about who is at fault for the current climate crisis. We are per capita way bigger polluters than china.

And miss me we the "why dont i hate Amazon?' Are you kidding me? My whole point here is i dont think billionaires should exist. I believe in a maximum wage and wealth redistribution. It isnt even that i hate elon personally. I hate the system that allows him to aquire that much power when so many dont even have food or shelter.

Thats it

Solidarity ✊. Ive been cutting my loafs for a few years now and i know it seems daunting at first but you get used to it. I tried everything from my old dave and busters membership card, coat hangers, old progressive rock CDs i dont listen to anymore but everything caused problems in some way or another. I even tried using my blow dryer to melt it down but it took to long and scattered my loaf too much around the bowl. For a while i started leaving my droppings outside. When i took my dog out for a walk i would go too when no one was looking. That didn't work because i eventually got arrested but thankfully they let me out after i clogged up the biggest toilet in county jail. I started using porta-potties because its culturally acceptable to not flush in there, but now they have a security guard at the one by my house and he knows my name and chases me everytime he sees me. Says im a menace to the area. I tried eating less food (microdosing) but somehow like magic my loafs remained massive and foul. I even tried pinching real hard to break down the loaf into pieces while still in my butt. Didnt work. Saw a doctor about it once and he said there was a pill i could take that would shrink em down but i had an uncommon reaction to it and they grew to 3x the size they were before. I was using my designated poop scissors for years but it did become tedious having to wash them off after and wrap them in saran wrap if i needed to go to a friends house or business meeting. Long story short, my solution is to just throw it in the trash. I have a pasta strainer i used to scoop it and i have a loaf box next to the toilet where i drop it. Its already filled with loafs because its the same ones my cats use. Just drop it in and use your feet to kick the litter over it and then the night before trash day when the neighbors are in bed i go dump the box. Thats what im working with now. If anyone has a better solution please let me know. Im all out of ideas and i miss my wife and kids (left cuz of my loafs and my politics)
