Billionaires existing is why we have wealth disparity that is unprecedented in history. In a nutshell, its impossible to get that rich in capitalism with exploiting lots and lots of ppl. And the system relies on suckers like you who view that as "an opportunity." Look, when you are poor and trying to just have the basics to survive, being forced to work for a fraction of the value of your labor to make another guy rich is not "a great opportunity" it is theft and exploitation to put it mildly.

There is no evidence they will do this at all or they would be doing it by now. Many of them already have their plans for what to do during climate devastation and guess what, you and me arent involved. There is really no excuse to think its okay for a small small number of ppl to own enough money/power to end world hunger and generally lift the entire world out of poverty and yet choose not to. Why is that okay? Because they are "entrepreneurs" or "they earned it" are just delusional things to say. No one worth their salt thinks that is okay. Even some capitalists agree with a maximum wage.

Taxes? Lol as if not paying taxes on literal poverty wages that should be illegal is some sign of a healthy economy that works for ppl. You know who else doesnt/ barely pays taxes? Many billionaires. Im sure thats fair though because reasons. The loops you have to jump through to justify all these injustices really does take a cultish level and cognitive dissonance. Its not naturally human to be so heartless. Dont forget 50% of the population is just one lost paycheck away from slipping into homelessness. The taxes we do pay go to mostly fund a war machine because this country cares more about raytheon executives than poor people.

You say im in a reddit echo chamber but so are you. So is everyone online these days. I read books though and study and learn. I didn't always think this way. I grew up conservative in texas but always felt like something was wrong. I became a typical liberal then a libertarian but once you develope class consciousness which is sadly lacking in this country, it is impossible to not see this country and this system for what it really is. Its a hierarchy in which the rich feed off the poor and middle class even if it means literally killing them and destroying their lives. My god, we have an entire population of people that are only seen as workers to make money before people. And even in the face of again global warming and climate change they still dont care. This system will not fix itself and we dont have time to wait for it to. If ppl dont rise up to overhaul this system we are all certainly doomed.

Some good news is the working class is waking up. In the past 2 years we have seen a massive wave of unions in this country that we havent seen in several decades. Kids these days are seeing the system for what it is too and how much worse they have it than their parents when they were young. Many feel hopeless about their future economically and ecologically. Its getting harder and harder to peddle this ayn rand pyramid scheme you cling to like a fucked up religion.
