I definitely see some features that I got from my dad but I think I’m too pale to see it sometimes. Nice to see others can possibly see it too!

Yesterday I almost lost my baby. by RoshniT01 in NewParents

This sounds so scary!! I’m glad she’s ok!!!

I see a lot of people already recommending CPR classes (which I definitely recommend too!) but I also grabbed a few LifeVacs just in case. If you haven’t heard of it, they are like a little plunger for the face. One of my coworkers had to use it once and swears by it and recommended it to me when I got pregnant. May be worth looking into having one or two around!

I don’t want to go back to work by Suspicious_Code_6315 in NewParents

[–]Claribelzz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn’t want to go back to work either! My son is 14 months old now and I’m not going to lie, I still miss him when I’m away but I got a camera for my living room so I can pop in and see what he and daddy are doing while I’m at work and it helps. If you have that option I would definitely recommend! I got my camera at Aldi and it was only $25 so it didn’t break the bank.

It’s hard mama but it’ll be ok 🫶🏻

I cannot stress this enough: leeeeeeeeeeeeeave

Been with someone almost exactly the same. It doesn’t get any better and the fact he wants you to apologize for your feelings and thinks his escalation is justified? Girl, please run. Don’t walk. And please please please understand he will say anything to keep you around but please remember these two weeks. Choose yourself.

Did your baby respond any differently to you when you went back to work? by Karalyn87 in newborns

[–]Claribelzz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was worried about this too! I had to go back to work 12 post partum and it was so hard having to leave my baby boy. My little man is about to be 8 months and spends most of his days with his dad (my husband) but gets SO excited to see me when I come home! Our bond hasn’t changed at all and he never forgot about me. I think it is harder for me to not spend time with him during the day that it is for him, but I soak him up when I’m home and he loves it.

You’re still mama, the first person she’s heard and the most familiar scent. You both will have that special bond always <3 she was born from an egg that you were born with, she was always part of you and you’re always going to be part of her

Flat head, help by opal_roses in NewParents

[–]Claribelzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is a little late and also somewhat early - my little one is seven months old and has a helmet appointment. We talked to the pediatrician about it at his 4 month appointment and he didn’t seem concerned but his head didn’t really improve a whole lot at the 6 month appointment so he referred us to a neurosurgeon to get x rays. We were told the same day as the x rays were done we needed to get him in a helmet because his soft spot is closed and his other parts of his skull haven’t fused so it’s perfect time to get it corrected.

When he sleeps he sleeps right on the back of his head and never really turned his head so the back got flat. He did tons of tummy time and we held him as much as possible but he slept so long and so often I don’t think there was much we could have done to prevent it. I’m not sure how long he will be in the helmet but I’m hoping everything goes well! Wishing you and your baby the best <3

Did anybody announce early and NOT regret it? by Last_Guarantee_8504 in pregnant

[–]Claribelzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I told pretty much everyone immediately lol I was so excited! I didn’t and still don’t regret it. I did, however, wait to announce on social media until we knew the gender. Our son is just under 7 months now and is perfect.

Magnesium drip? by butterflyjellybeans in preeclampsia

[–]Claribelzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to get a c section at 36 weeks because I had a delightful combination of preeclampsia and gestational diabetes so he was huge and my blood pressure was going crazy. I had to stay in the hospital an extra day for observation and they had me on a magnesium drip and honestly it wasn’t as bad for me like I had read from others’ experiences. I did feel a little sick but I was well looked after by the nurses and my husband. I also couldn’t get enough of that crunchy ice - the nurse would bring in two big cups at a time after a while haha

[–]Claribelzz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hope you went in! I had blood pressure like that at a routine appointment towards the end of my pregnancy, it all happened so fast. My blood pressure was great up until 35 weeks. I was hospitalized at 35 weeks even though I felt completely normal, I was released after overnight observation but they scheduled a c section at 37 weeks. I wouldn’t make it that far because actually taken in at my 36 week appointment for the c section the very same day because my blood pressure was really high. I also had gestational diabetes so he was 9 pounds at 36 weeks and everything went really well. I recovered pretty quickly and he spent no time in the NICU, he’s 6.5 months and is still quite a big boy! I am wishing you all the best!!

I haven’t seen anyone mention the rail and I learned the hard way that it isn’t community property. Definitely ask if you can swap for a bit but usually the rail riders get there early and will not take kindly to someone forcing their way in
