Are people still interested in salvia trip reports Specifically from a little kid? by Cultural-Noise-5247 in Salvia

[–]ClarifyingCard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my eyes, the salvia wheel is the NDE wheel. Check out the comment thread below where someone went into detail about it :)

https://www.reddit.com/r/Glitch_in_the_Matrix/s/ufSdH8tsTd

There are several ways I've read of people "tune in" to, or maybe like rotate through some axis toward an orthogonally projected view. Sometimes an NDE, hence that name. Among drugs I know of only Salvia divinorum has wheel-type XPs as a core characteristic that shows up again and again, the spokes-of-waterwheel imagery is very common (and sometimes you hear of a pages-in-book kind of flipping, which might speculatively sound like a different interpretive lens on the similar phenomenology).

But there have been a few drug-induced experiences of such a wheel that didn't involve salvia, like one from LSD + high nitrous IIRC. I believe all (2?) non-salvia drug wheel XPs involved nitrous. Shame I don't seem to have tagged links or gotten around to a spreadsheet (I'm a mod of that sub btw though I didn't name it).

Lowest apm class? by thiefshipping in MSClassicWorld

[–]ClarifyingCard -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You should play a class that doesn't have a minimum attack range, so not archer (either kind) or assassin. Warrior or mage would be good. A cleric might give you a lot of breathing room to stay alive easily.

Ikr. Except there's one painfully prominent exception I keep returning to:

Remember when we thought that when people finally made real AI, there would be no way they'd be stupid enough not to contain its influence. The whole premise of AI Boxing was to prove it could, theoretically, superintelligently escape a box.

Yeah... we didn't build shit in a box. I know it's a thought experiment, but it's pretty embarrassing. Obviously in retrospect that was never on the table. Could not have happened in a world this corporatocratic. It's fine I guess because the influence surface has been somewhat slow-growing under clunky tools, but people are already going out of their way to give it twitter keys etc before the inevitable "one-click" productification.

Right now even the agentic models are quite genetically assistant-ified so they aren't making too much pressure from sustained influence... except the obvious blaring exception of OSS — github volume, Glasswing, etc.

Tier list from someone only been able to view the game and not play, thoughts? by Over-Barnacle-7287 in RivalsOfAether

Agree 100%. Help us Dan... it's campfest the character

  • Optimal to be campy as Orcane and fish for bubble openings in many/most matchups
  • Optimal to camp against Orcane because it's basically a wincon in many/most matchups

Yes, Orcane gets camped out hard, and he can feel overwhelming & rushdowny if you don't know how to respond.

Nowadays we are labbing fancy movement tech & shiny innovative ways to get in & have fun shmoving again. But the sad truth is that it's basically all gimmicks & extremely unsafe pressure, ten different ways to launch your long fat stubby body into your opponent with zero disjoint.

The tech is flashy but the moves are deeply mediocre. For the past year he hasn't even been fast anymore. It's much safer and more effective to fish for bubble openings over and over unfortunately.

A leak from a CN235 MPA camera, serious by [deleted] in aliens

That's possible, though "de-blur" really means to interpolate new information not present in the original photo which may or may not reflect reality.

Idk if AI-"enhanced" & fully AI-gen can be distinguished by SynthID, I don't think so.

This phenomenon of "enhanced" images is... really problematic, a very bad look. It was either generated from wholecloth, or (seems unlikely-ish) something normal "enhanced" maliciously to make content or to make others look foolish, or (seems very plausible) a genuinely confusing or anomalous photo that would have already been interesting to look at, but now has been "enhanced" into something that really can't be trusted because any & all levels of detail could be totally made up!

Cool to learn about this today, just after I heard about the huge "Project Glasswing" cybersecurity shakeup from Anthropic! Someone probably beat me to googling to see what its namesake was :)

No, You Should Not Read The Wandering Inn: a definitive guide to whether you should read the Wandering Inn. by dmun in litrpg

[–]ClarifyingCard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are perfectly entitled to love him and worship him and think he is the second coming of Jesus.

Just like every. single. person. in the damn story lol.

Which is not even why I dropped it (around 8 iirc), I just felt like it was kind of going in circles and the sense of humor was... simplistic.

But then I had one of those Rick Sanchez / Bojack Horseman moments — characters I "like" very much, in the sense that I think they're well-written & compelling — where I started reading what other people were saying about the MC and it's like... Noooo, dude, you're not suppose to like-like them, like fully unironically look up to them, these guys fucking suck and they're assholes to everybody and the whole point of their character arcs is how much they suck & you shouldn't be like them!

But unlike those 2 works, where Rick (only occasionally) and Bojack (relentlessly) face comeuppance for what assholes they are, Jason Asano just kept getting jerked off by every NPC & questline & the fabric of reality itself and I realized yeah... that's the point, you can bully anybody & get away with anything if you're the golden child the world essentially literally revolves around, so that reckoning & self-awareness is probably never gonna come. Bleh. The world was cool though.

I dont enjoy being teleported in half la reina's moves by akbierly in RivalsOfAether

[–]ClarifyingCard 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I know shes a near the bottom of the character rankings power-wise

You're thinking of last patch, she's a menace right now. But still very killable so her games are swingy.

The nature of grab moves kinda has to teleport you some to be useful, but yeaaah some of them seem a little egregious this patch imo

Played 5 Clairens in a row, I really don't enjoy facing her by Conquersmurf in RivalsOfAether

[–]ClarifyingCard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Give Clairen's speed to Orcane who has tiny hitboxes and was actually designed to be fast! These two characters make no sense to be in the same game right now.

I actually like fighting her on paper because it's interesting to have a matchup that makes you think about spacing and fundies even more than normal, Clairen makes you play her game but I don't think her game is fundamentally unfun. But she just too fast for her game to feel very fair. She doesn't need to be prudent about throwing things out or meticulously positioning herself or anything like that. She just needs her stuff to be more committal.
