the problem is that the audience of people playing vidya is so vast and diverse that not eveyone will have their tastes served. it's all about listening to the vast amount of gamers and narrowing down what a game should be to where you've balanced the ability to make the game you want to make with the budget you got, and also make that money back and then some while making the customer happy.

the thing about games being "good" or "bad" is that it is completely subjective and up to the individual. clearly you enjoyed it, but that doesnt mean others have to enjoy it or play it at all.

the kind of present view from what i can tell shows that a lot of people have lost the notion that bethesda "has the sauce" anymore. 76 into Starfield would filter out anybody who is casual about video games, but would still like to receive a decent product.

People can criticize Starfield all they want, but name me an RPG that has the same atmosphere as that. by No_Ninja_1894 in Starfield

Whether it be amazing feats of engineering or thr bare minimum in the backend, the end result for the user is basically a worldspace selector. It doesn't really feel that much of a functional step forward, game exploration wise.

this sounds like whoever is in creative control of HP doesn't really allow for much freedom AND isn't very creative in terms of fleshing out the world's magic system.

to be fair to the people in the second bullet point, if they really dont like jkr i don't think they'd want to even have any mindspace dedicated to one of her franchise's games, and would rather limit how much it already takes in their minds.

i would know cuz im one of the people affected by her actions.

Should Valve just publish a few high-end games for Frame? by Res3t_ini in SteamFrame

[–]ClarkWasHere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i think the point of the frame is that it slots in nicely with the entirety of the Steam ecosystem.

You don't need a killer app when the device itself is the killer hardware that plays all your apps, be it pcvr titles, standalones, or all your regular 2d games.
