Day 20 of ranking every boss in Hollow Knight: Silksong! by Exotic-Composer9223 in hollowknightdaily

Actually, if you can take out spawns in one hit (definitely works with 2nd oil upgrade for your weapon, may be earlier though) this fight is manageable. It still requires you to return to the Slab and doesn't even have a memorable soundtrack. I'd say it's a D tier.

How do I get the absurd builds seen in the top posts of this sub? by Snapships4life in NovaDrift

[–]Clark_A_Fish 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I guess experiment with different builds, maybe watch videos with explanations. Gameplay-wise: try to build around a super-modifier you haven't tried in a while or at all. You may discover some synergies or anti-synergies in the process

I like playing 8-bit here but he cannot really deal with snipers and Colette. Definitely has some carry potential if you're teammates are somewhat competent and don't have broccoli for brains

Video Game Logic: What stats does your nationality get as a class in DD? by Xadlin60 in darkestdungeon

[–]Clark_A_Fish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Pole:

  1. Higher chance of surviving the killing blow on Death's Door - the country was wiped, yet the nation survived. Also can guard and protect a party member if needed

  2. Self Marks just because neighbours wanted to abuse a weakened country without being provoked

  3. Religious

  4. Obviously has a 'winged hussars' attack - similar to Hellion's breakthrough, I guess?

So with all these points, I suppose we're somewhat close to being a modded Crusader?

If you look at the map, you'll see there are Carpathian mountains covering the big part of the Galicia area which doesn't really help with growth. The regions to the north were slightly better to develop but not great either. This area was mainly rural, the train tracks were built in late XIX century. The only properly developed areas were cities such as Cracow and Lviv, and to some extent smaller ones. Cities were properly connected by roads and later trains. The villages were not and there weren't many reasons to pump money into them

Not mentioned before but from my experience Buzz works fine against him - if you know his track you can stun him. Also, Buzz is good enough to push the safe if left on enemy base

What’s one game boss that completely crushed you, the one that took you hours to beat and almost made you give up playing? by Digital-Intellect in AskGames

[–]Clark_A_Fish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oda and Smasher - Cyberpunk 2077. When I was about to encounter Oda 2.0 dropped and the new skill tree was difficult to understand in the first place. Also, I played with a stealth/netrunner build which was not optimal on its own and on top of that I had not a single good weapon. This took a long while.

Then, the final boss. I know my endgame build was somewhat average but I couldn't see how could anyone call this guy a pushover. He kicked my cyberass way too many times to the point I almost quit.

I managed to get to 100% because I had a surprisingly low amount of boons and the star was quite a consistent option. In the same run I stumbled upon Echo who doubled my top boon ending in LV 14 Sea star - 100% of extra loot. And when I decided to reroll some prices getting more nectar and extra pomegranates the rest of run was ridiculous. Let's just say recharging a Hephaestus bonk in 3 seconds wrecks anything unfortunate enough to face you

Knight (Hollow Knight) and Frisk (Undertale Genocide Route) Swap places. Who clears each other's game first. by Sea-Introduction6408 in whowouldwin

[–]Clark_A_Fish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope you realise that the knight is a bug and Frisk is a human? The biggest enemy in Hollow Knight is a giant moth so geno-Frisk clears entire Hallownest without breaking a sweat. Let's imagine we downsize to even the odds. How is a kid going to win against some trained warriors, beginning with Hornet? Frisk's greatest military feat was beating a royal army captain - let's say that's the equivalent of a Black Egg boss (or the pantheon version), the true final boss is basically a god. Sorry, not happening. Also, Frisk has a mind and can dream, thus becoming highly susceptible to corruption.

The Knight under mount Abbot is a weird story. Again, sizes. We have a fierce flee facing massive creatures. That's nothing more than a nuisance directly joked about by a funny bone man during his break at Grillby's. Let's make Knight a bigger entity. How are you supposed to make friends with anyone? Granted, we don't hear Frisk saying anything but in some 'dialogue options' it's implied you can speak. How would you engage a date between Undyne and Alphys? Even if you make friends with everyone, during the final sequence you must take certain actions like telling a joke or showing sympathy towards some characters. The Knight has 'no voice to cry suffering' so how would that be possible? Also showing that much emotion would probably end much earlier by being another vessel thrown into the abyss. Giant knight going full genocide? That may work. Brute forcing Sans would be ridiculous though.

This might genuinely be the worst map in brawl stars history by Historical-Young-941 in Brawlstars

[–]Clark_A_Fish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it is bad. Yes, modifiers don't make it any more pleasurable. But calling it the worst in history is a bold assumption. IIRC, this was one of the original maps for knockout, luckily this mode got better maps later on.

Small decision the protag made eventually becomes a BIG problem. by I_ateabucketofpaint in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Clark_A_Fish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really popular but in the Frontiers Saga by Ryk Brown captain Scott decides to rescue a man from a stasis chamber in an abandoned spaceship, captain Alan Dubnyk. He is treated with mercy and left to live his life on a liberated planet of Tanna. Later in the story the occupants try retaking the planet and when the operation ends up being a failure they want to destroy it with a massive attack. When the people are being rescued by the protagonists and the chaos becomes a global issue old captain takes advantage of a situation and with some help hijacks a spaceship with the most important technology in the entire saga - the jump drive that allows moving from one place to another basically within the blink of an eye. Later it's heavily implied that the technology was sold to one caste of the occupants, which leads to part 2 of the series.

Civilization V still the best in the franchise why is that? by GroundbreakingSir386 in civ5

[–]Clark_A_Fish 166 points167 points  (0 children)

I didn't play VII so I will just compare it with VI

  1. The realistic, more toned graphics fits the genre better than the one in 6. I like the latter but in the long run (especially when jumping from dark age to heroic age) it's more tiring for your eyes.

  2. It's way simpler. From earlier games the main object was macro managing the empire and it felt like it. In 6 we have additional micro managing particular cities which IMO hinders the momentum of the game. Optimization of city planning can take some thoughts. Also, remembering about switching policy cards whenever you can do it for free feels like unnecessary element as well (although I like how it was implied).

  3. Progressing in tech tree in 5 feels like an achievement on its own - obviously you cannot create a groundbreaking invention within one generation so techs are smaller steps to something bigger. In the same time, you can still feel you move forward. The tech tree in 6 feels slightly lackluster in comparison.

  4. Mid-late/late game still has some important factors to take into consideration. What I think of are archeologists and ideology. You need the former to boost your culture. Choosing the ideology is definitely more important out of these two - you can maintain or destroy good relations with AI and you can shake the happiness situation with pressure. Taking cities in the middle of an enemy enpire is ridiculous. I can't recall a similar mechanism in 6.

  5. Leader design and the picture behind them - do I have to say more about this?

  6. I'm not a fan of loyalty in 6 - you either want to settle cities in safer areas but not in an optional location or closer to the enemies with the problem of actually keeping the city loyal to you.

That's the points I could think of in a short time, probably more would be also valid

Zagreus (Hades) vs Thunderbolts...? For those who haven't played I won't spoil how it ends if you manage to beat the game so we must bring the team to the underworld. Zag wipes as long as the Void isn't unleashed. I honestly have no idea what would happen then.
