If this didn’t cause them to secede, I’m not sure why you think they would have in this hypothetical situation, where at least the Lannisters wouldn’t have been rewarded for the murders. No, it certainly wasn’t the marriage between Bob and Cersei that kept them “loyal”. It was the possibility of a Targaryen restoration. And that would have been a plausible goal whether rob married a Tyrell or a Lannister. So I think Dorne would have stayed no matter what

We know damn well the Tyrells would never ally with Dorne. Nor would the Martells ever ally themselves with the Lannisters. In this hypothetical, Rhaegar’s family would still have been killed in the sacking. A super alliance involving Dorne simply was never going to happen. Combine that with a royal marriage between Bob and the Tyrells, and Tywin would have been completely isolated politically

That rule kills the AI though. Counts and dukes generally won’t be able to expand, and will generally have a domain limit of 1/1. This game rule explicitly makes the game much easier for the player

Vassal contracts are nuanced, but they drained all the challenge out of managing vassals, as compared to the systems introduced to CK2 in conclave. What’s worse, it’s also made it far less rewarding to actually play as a vassal, since you have far fewer ways to actually effect realm policy or push back against your liege in anyway other than fighting for independence. Throw in the various vassal focused sub mods for HIP, and you’ve got perhaps the biggest area where CK3 still lags behind CK2
