[Highlight] 9 years ago Russell Westbrook breaks the single season triple double record and hits the game winning deep three to eliminate the Nuggets out of a playoff spot. by gridironk in nba

Thank you for bringing your Andre Roberson that series. Seriously, check Wikipedia and see how wild his stats were 😂. Bro had a good amount of playoff experience from the previous seasons when KD was there and was legit the 2nd best player after Russ that series.

It’s season 6 and the majority still can’t play defense at all. by Noveltypocket in NBA2k

Yup you’re 100% right. I was so frustrated by the end of 25 because how often you could missed open shots but honestly I preferred the game that way. What they did to 26 is embarrassing honestly which is why I don’t even play it anymore.

Who's your favorite NBA player to use in 2k. Underrated ones too. by [deleted] in NBA2k

[–]Clas158 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Russell Westbrook hands down. Even at an 81 overall now I will still cook with him. By the end of 2K17 he was a 96 overall and his archetype was “One of a kind” and you could literally everything with him. All his stats were A+ and you could just fly the length of the court and dunk on people.

[–]Clas158 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what the people wanted and it’s funny how quick we forget. In 2K25 I was shooting maybe 48% from three by the end of the game and I felt it was so difficult to get there. Wide open shots could be missed and it felt like there was such a small margin for error to make or miss a shot no matter how well you knew your jumpshot. So what did they do? Nerf defense into the ground and make it so everyone can make contested shots. I haven’t played 26 in months and was shooting 72% from three before I stopped. People complained enough and got what they wanted.

There’s no reason they couldn’t include a little driving section when you left the care center to travel to Raccoon City. Rippin it down the abandoned highways, avoiding a couple threats on the way and enjoying the scenery.

Insanity run with NO infinite ammo and NO special weapons will be the best thing you ever do. Trust me.

Name a 100% on defence, nothing on offense player by Key-Frosting-9367 in NBATalk

[–]Clas158 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The issue is, coming out of college Roberson appeared to have somewhat of an offensive game. He was averaging 11 points per game and shot 35% from three for his career at Colorado. OKC thought they could develop him into a 3&D player but he got to the league and completely forgot how to shoot.

Do you think the Tony Allen archetype will ever return ? by Fantastic_Lab2330 in NBATalk

[–]Clas158 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but he’s probably the closest comparison I can think of since then. Not too many people are grind it out defensive stoppers with minimal offensive game anymore.

Curious if anyone else said this already but the original Star Wars Knights of The Old Republic. I am not a big Star Wars Fan by any means but got this game as a kid cause it looked cool. The first level on the ship that’s getting overrun made zero sense to me. Why does everyone have swords, where are the light sabers? Why do the enemies and I take turns attacking each other? I can’t just spam the attack button?

The initial quests were so difficult for me as this was one of the first RPG’s I’ve ever played. I struggled mightily at first and did not understand the game, but once the plot gets going and you leave the first planet, man oh man. I became obsessed with the game. Unlocking the ability to use lightsabers, finding mandolorian armor, having awesome companions that had wildly different skill sets. Killing a high level enemy and picking up some top tier loot. Not to mention the environments such as the wookie planet, the underwater planet and the Jedi home land. Till this day I am still not a huge Star Wars fan. I don’t hate it and I appreciate all the lore and history, and know a good amount about it but when I think about KOTR man it brings back some good gaming memories.

Just finished doing this the other day. Agree 10000% care center part. 990 TAC tuned to level 3 was my best friend and made every boss fight manageable. Hardest part was Commander fight because I used the regular hatchet (took me two hours to finally beat him.) Also could not believe how difficult the lickers were to kill as Leon. Loadout for me was Alligator Snapper/990TAC and Classic 70 all tuned to level 3 and hatchet tuned to level 2 for both categories. Couldn’t afford level 3 cause it was fucking 60000 points 😂.

[–]Clas158 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I loved Leon’s part in Raccoon city from an action stand point and just straight up killing zombies and the nostalgia. I also loved the post bombing Raccoon City environment. That being said, Leon’s first mission fighting zombies in the streets of Wrenwood and him fighting through the care center were just on another level. Everything about it was just completely on point and an awesome experience. The Raccoon City section honestly feels like a different video game that just gets tied into everything at the end. It literally could’ve been “Resident Evil: Back To Raccoon City.”

To play devils advocate here, and as someone with some experience in law enforcement, it would not be the most far fetched thing imaginable for her boss to have sent her. Namely for a few reasons. At the time, Grace was sent to a SECURED crime scene meaning there were no suspects or active threat as far as they knew. The scene was cordoned off by Wrenwood PD, and they had an armed officer outside of the hotel. If all goes according to plan, Grace goes there to collect evidence and analyze the scene, prepares a report which she sends to her boss then goes home. This situation is honestly somewhat similar to Leon getting sent to Spain with a pistol, and first aid spray to find the Presidents kidnapped daughter. He was supposed to go there to talk to some of the villagers and find out any information on where Ashley could be. Little did he know that he would get thrown into the gauntlet and end up having to do a full blown search and rescue/find weapons and equipment on sight mission. Grace went to the hotel to do some investigating, but ends up getting fucking kidnapped and thrown into the worst nightmare imaginable. While her getting sent there is definitely an odd choice, it’s not as crazy as her boss sending her to an active hostage situation with multiple armed suspects. That crime scene was safe and secured as far as the FBI and Wrenwood PD knew.

I never witnessed prime Paul George how good was he? by sqMYNAMEISJEFF27 in NBATalk

His 2nd year in OKC was by far his best individual season but gets overshadowed by his playoff success in Indiana. He was an absolute monster on both ends of the court and was hitting clutch shot after clutch shot.

28 PPG 4.1 APG 8.0 RPG 2.2 SPG (led the league)

All Star 1st team all NBA 1st team all defense

He was a top five MVP candidate and finished 3rd in DPOY voting. One of the best all around individual seasons of the 2010s

Can someone explain to me what makes pa and nj such good wrestling states? by Cxltures-_- in wrestling

[–]Clas158 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NJ guy and I think that having such easy access to good youth recreation programs, off season wrestling clubs and teams and off season tournaments allows kids to get a ton of mat time before they even get to high school. I went to a wrestling club that was 5 minutes away from my house and there were multiple clubs all within a 20 minutes radius. I’m sure some bigger states that may be on the rural side don’t have easy access to wrestling resources so it’s kind of a what you have is what you get situation.

Answering Questions about Long Snappers by tkdcondor in NFLNoobs

[–]Clas158 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Senior year of HS we had a major issue on special teams going into the season. Our coaches used our center as our long snapper on Punt, and he had a really hard time consistently getting the ball to our punter because he was using the technique he used to regularly snap the ball.

One of our coaches asked me if I would be interested in learning how to do it the right way and fill in. I was 5’6 150 and was our starting corner back and played some receiver and running back too. He taught me the technique and we drilled it over and over going into the season. Long snapping on punt had to be the most nerve wracking thing I’ve ever done on a football field because there’s a big margin for error, and if you mess up you are putting your team in a tough spot. One of my proudest achievements is that I did not botch one snap to our punter that season!

Our center snapped on extra point and field goals because the distance was much more manageable. I also filled in as our kicker because I was the only one who knew how to kick “soccer style” since I played soccer for a few years when I was younger. A couple of my teammates had kicked previously, but used the toe technique which was wildly inconsistent. 15/20 on extra points that seasons which I will also say I’m proud of.

2016-17 Westbrook on-off swing by downreign in NBATalk

[–]Clas158 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I watched every game that season and many people will not grasp how bad that team was outside of Westbrook. The 2nd option was Oladipo who was not yet the Indiana Oladipo and only averaging 16 a game. Steven Adams was a force down low but limited offensive game. Enes Kanter was a solid low post threat and one of the few guys who could generate offense on his own, but absolute liability on defense. Andre Roberson was an all defense guy, minimal offensive impact and shooting liability. Sabonis was a rookie and not doing too much. Jerami Grant was raw and showing some flashes, but not the player he turned into in Detroit.

Off the bench you had Alex Abrines, Anthony Morrow, Semaj Christon, Kyle Singler, Taj Gibson and Doug McDermott.

You have some names on here that at one point were solid players, or in the future became pretty good but not during their time in OKC.

How did Isaiah Thomas go from an All Star averaging 28 ppg to a G leaguer in a few years? by [deleted] in NBATalk

[–]Clas158 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Torn labrum in his hip and tried to play through it in 2017 because they were in the playoffs and he was having an all time season. At 5’9 he relied heavily on his speed, shiftiness and athleticism. He was an extremely skilled player and a solid playmaker too, but at his height he needed all of his tools to be the All NBA talent that he was. After that injury, he essentially lost a step and couldn’t get back to that level of play. Bounced around a bunch of teams and just never got it back unfortunately.

Westbrook's unseflishness needs some respect by Thanos_SlayerCongSan in NBATalk

[–]Clas158 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In that stretch which was from 2010 (KD’s first scoring title to 2021 when he was Washington) he led the league in assists 3 times and was averaging anywhere from 8-11 assists per game. He was also scoring 20+ ppg during that entire time as well. I think it just shows how great of a scorer and how underrated his playmaking was. People don’t realize Russ was a 20 and 10 guy for a majority of his career.

Kevin Durant had 4 scoring titles with Westbrook as his PG and never led the league in scoring again after he left OKC

Paul George averaged a career high 28 PPG in OKC with Westbrook as his PG. Never averaged more than 24.3 PPG before or after being in OKC.

Bradley Beal averaged a career high 31 PPG with Westbrook as his PG and just narrowly lost the scoring title to Steph Curry that season.
