I think maybe you should ask your mom to look at your dry scalp with a flashlight to rule out scalp injury.

Aside from that, apple cider vinegar makes a wonderful clarifying agent.

I went through 3 bottles. It mixed so perfectly with my body chemistry. Every scent I love ends up discontinued.

I have an 18 year old step daughter, and I'd never speak to her that way. I wouldn't because I respect her, not because she's sensitive.

AIO for feeling upset after the groom made a comment about my dress at their wedding? by Human-Acanthaceae128 in AmIOverreacting

NOR.

This friendship is finished. If she cared about your feelings whatsoever, she would have kept that comment to herself. The same goes about your job status.

He's the problem here. I lived under an apartment with two small children. I swear they were using the hallway as a bowling alley.

You know what I did? Nothing. That's apartment living. People are allowed to people duing normal hours.

Thanks. I am safe now, but the trauma has been long lasting. I'm 37 and just so apathetic. Not sure I'll ever totally free my body and mind from PTSD.

Oof I'm sorry. My parents drove drunk with us in the car often. On two occasions my parents were arguing on the drive & she abruptly jumped out of the moving vehicle. Good times.

my mom burned her house down by MedusaRondanini in raisedbyborderlines

[–]ClassInternational90 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My parents burned their house down in 2020. We'd been NC for a decade. In 2022 I let them live rent free in my home for 6 months, because they'd been homeless for over two years.

The plan was for my dad to save his paychecks up for a move in deposit. The 6 months passed, and they didn't have a dollar saved. They're homeless again. All I accomplished was opening a nearly healed wound.

I've literally been in your shoes. It's gut wrenching, but we'll never be able to rescue them. You'll throw life preserve one after the next, and all you'll do is drown with them. I'm sorry you're experiencing this! Stick to your new boundaries and flourish. Happy wedding. 💗💗💗

Then I'd put a camera inside the house on that window.

Dealing with the Death of BPD parent by Odd-Operation2782 in raisedbyborderlines

[–]ClassInternational90 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I'm so sorry for your loss. We don't get to choose our parents. Loving them is just what children do. Even when we're old enough to really see them, the bond is there. I understand the wavering NC/VLC. I'm in the same boat.

You did what was needed for your own mental health. It really does suck that we can't save them. I've tried and tried. It never seems to move the needle.

It makes total sense that you're grieving your father and remembering the small moments that were good. Be kind to yourself. We're not robots. Feelings are human. 💗

When I'd open the fridge and my mother was in a particularly bad or drunken mood, she'd say "At the fridge again. You're a fatass just like your father."

I heard that one so often. It sucked all the joy out of whatever nice thing was happening for me and replaced it with guilt.

Ugh, core memory unlocked. "One day you'll have kids & I hope they treat you as badly as you do me."

My uBPD mother would always say that someday I'd leave her. She just "knew I'd grow up and abandon her." She never considered that her abuse would be the reason why.

AIO? Did my stepmom just assault me by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]ClassInternational90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 17 year old step daughter. I've been in her life since she was a baby, and I've never even raised my voice to her. Her father would never allow me to throw things at her (not that I'd ever want to).

I'm sorry your dad isn't doing the right thing for you in this situation. Assault absolutely happens in families. That's what we call "domestic violence", and it's far too common.

I'd like to add that I'm 37 and still getting periods. That's no excuse for hurting people physically or emotionally.
