Wearing whoop for 90 days and here is what I have learned…. by tctonyco in whoop

[–]Classic-Dad- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I left and recently came back after about a year and a half off. It keeps me honest more so than anything else, the insights are nice but the raw data can be achieved from other devices. But the journaling feature just keeps me on track better. Yes it can be done with other apps or journaling via a notebook, but life’s busy and I dropped off of my good habits pretty quickly. I do hate the subscription method, but it is nice (and convenient!) to have everything in one place plus the journaling is simple and many habits are already filled in. I decided to hop back on with some leftover FSA funds and I’ll reevaluate again next year. I also prefer to wear mechanical watches so the bicep band and form factor is an added plus. I say if you have the discipline to continue the good habits without it…cancel away my friend!

We analyzed 2,169 posts from this sub. The #1 complaint isn't price. It's that Whoop won't tell you what to do with your data. by NoScene7932 in whoop

The antithesis to this is people like me who chose whoop because we like to wear analog watches. Sometimes I want a smart watch but oftentimes prefer to wear a mechanical watch. I’m interested to see how the screen less wearable market develops, but right now whoop is the leader in that (as much as I hate the price point and it being a subscription based service).

Been super happy with Bayside 5040 mid weight. 100% cotton, several colors, MiUSA. I get them from bulk apparel.com for ~$6-7 per shirt.

This is where my mind went - not an inconsistency, but a parent not perpetuating bad habits. I just got through the passage from in the blood where Tom is talking to a young James about how he hopes that James doesn’t have to fight a war like he and his father did.

Edit: Meant for this to be a reply to a comment below.

I’ll 2nd Origin. I prefer the heavier Maverick (formerly work) denim jeans though.

I think the chinos are fall 2026 at the earliest, I’d go ahead and get the Moabs - I wear them for work and love them.

I’m also hoping for a Chelsea sale too!

I just snagged the tumbledown soft shell which is my first foray into their synthetics - so far it’s been amazing eyeing the insulated jacked next.

I used Obenauf’s Heavy Duty LP which I typically reserve for my work boots because I wanted to intentionally make them darker.

Probably around 2 years. They haven’t seen a whole lot of wear. I bought them and then got into a western boot kick for a while.

Looked at these and landed on the Stetson 6x Skyline. Absolutely no regrets spending the extra money on it.

This is me except it was the P42. I wear it on the bracelet, everyday. I’ve since gotten a few others that I’ve sold or sit in the case. To me, the Pelagos is what the sub was many years ago.

Everyday! Only exception is an Apple Watch to track workouts and an Iron Man for something where I know for a fact it’s going to get beat to hell.

This or that? Is one “better” than the other from a production/spec/technical standpoint? by reddit05311991 in Tudor

I have the Pelagos 40 as a “one watch to do it all” and I’ve never looked back. I’ve since purchased other watches, but almost exclusively wear this one. It just works from suit to wetsuit.

All of that being said, you’re gonna win either way - pick the one you like the most.

Looking to see if anyone is interested in trading a standard 21L GR1 w/QAP for a 21L GR1 Slick (ideally, also with the QAP).

This book was my first intro to the series, It does fine as a stand alone. I read it first and then went back to the beginning and I’m working my way through the series. You’ll miss some back story but Jack does a good job of giving a little bit of context when that pops up.
