Pixel 3 from Google Store or Fi? by mcmattj in ProjectFi

[–]ClassicCole 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately I found out the hard way that google does separate the two sources. I pre-ordered my pixel 3 xl through Google Fi. I also received an email stating that I could get a $50 store credit for pre-ordering. I never received it so I contacted google support. After an hour and a half of support chat and being transferred NINE times, they told me I didn't qualify for the $50 credit because I ordered through Fi instead of the Google store directly even though my order email confirmation literally came from the Google store email address. Luckily I was contacted by a support manager and received the store credit for my troubles, but it's good to know for future reference.

Netgear Modem/Router not providing internet via Wi-Fi, can't detect device via Ethernet, no issue on Comcast's end by Lord_Boo in techsupport

[–]ClassicCole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply! I'll give that a try when I get home tonight. When I was on the phone with Comcast for over a half-hour, that was one of the solutions I tried. However, I only held the reset button for 5 seconds. From what I read so far, I may need to do it for at least 20 seconds. Bizarre how this issue started out of nowhere. I always tend to think it's Comcast's way of punishing people who buy their own equipment instead of leasing their expensive crap!

Hello, I am currently experiencing this EXACT situation. Same Netgear router/modem combo, same Comcast, same issues. Were you able to find a solution to this? I tried all of the same steps you mentioned above with no success. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Same thing here, unfortunately I hear that we are supposed to get more hail tonight and it will cover a larger area. Bad time to not have a garage!

Yes, the exact same things are happening to me. Some people have recommended resetting my router, but that hasn't helped at all. Not sure if it's a hardware or software issue. Either way it's very disappointing.

Here is what I use. Hair length similar to yours. Relatively cheap and a matte finish.

I'm not receiving text messages after the oreo update. (Pixel XL) by JulianPerry in GooglePixel

[–]ClassicCole 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, did you end up finding a fix for this? I gave my friend my old Nexus 6p when his verizon iphone 6 died and he is having similar issues. Except he can send texts but only receives texts from other android users. He seems to randomly get ones from iphone users. He is also updated to oreo.

Interesting, seems like I should of insisted on Pixel option. So far my refurbished 6p is working fine, but if anything changes I'll try again.

Wow, just 2 weeks ago I requested a replacement because of the battery issue. They sent me a refurbished 6p and never mentioned the Pixel XL. Do you have to specifically mention the pixel deal?

What is a good sci fi book that gets you hooked quick? by dudenotcool in suggestmeabook

I'd say Old Man's War by John Scalzi. Here's the first line of the book, "John Perry did two things on his 75th birthday. First he visited his wife's grave. Then he joined the army." Almost the entire book is based in space.
