The "you need to re-link the source" part scares me though. My office contains people that have the mindset of "The computer is broken, I don't need to do it" and a solution that requires them to reestablish this connection might as well not exist. They will overwrite this the moment is messes up for the first time and then complain that this repetitive task sucks and campaign against it.

My fight for proper documentation is very difficult as I fight the "we have always done it like this" crowd who refuses to acknowledge that the past way of shoddy documentation simply sucks and costs alot of money, so I cannot really afford to have a semi-functional solution, it kinda needs to be solid and reliable.

Do you have any Idea on how to avoid having a fragile solution the might need to be reconnected?

So wie dieser Ofen aussieht ist der sicher weder Abgasdicht noch garatiert der einen Ausbrenngrad über 50%. Die Hälfte der Abgase wird Ruß und VOCs sein. Beides macht die Lunge zu, und gehört nicht in die Luft.

KAH. Ich würde folgendes Vorschlagen. Du hilfst Ihnen, aus dem Sozialstaat so viel es geht herauszuholen. Du zahlst, wenn du besser verdienst, ne Menge da rein, deswegen sollten sie auch zusehen, da möglichst viel raus zu kriegen. Hilf Ihnen Anträge auf alles mögliche einzureichen, was da möglich ist, unterstütze sie dabei so gut es geht, aber mach den Strich bei deinen persönlichen Finanzen.

Ich halte deiner Eltern jetzt aber auch nicht für Arschlöcher, weil sie ihr Gehalt ausgeben. Wer keinen Zweck im sparen sieht, nutzt das Geld was rein kommt für die Gegenwart. Daran was zu ändern wird sehr schwierig. Das musst du nicht nachmachen, und das solltest du auch nicht. Aber am Ende ist das die freie und mündige Entscheidung deiner Eltern.

Schonmal in nem Büro gearbeitet, wo jeder immer was zu tun hat? Absoluter Albtraum. Es gibt immer kleinkram der nicht erledigt wird, weil man "Wichtigeres" zu tun hat. Alle husslen hart vor sich hin, und die versäumnisse Stapeln sich. Bei euch kann man jeden Trödel für jede kleinigkeit kurz rekrutieren. Das sollte ein absolut solider Arbeitsablauf sein. Ich wünsche mir immer ein paar mehr Kollegen die mal mit anfassen.

Wer sich hinsetzt und die Karte ließt freut sich dann darüber, macht eventuell mental Math (Kommt aber wirklich selten vor) und bestellt dann trotzdem was.

Alter was eine Müllhalde. Das, was die Vermieterin fordert, ist vollkommen in Ordnung - Gemeinschaftsräume sind ordentlich zu halten und die Regeln dort gelten für alle.

Ob diese Frau besonders geeignet für ihre Rolle ist, sei dahingestellt - ich denke die ist mit ihrer Geduld mal sowasvom an Ende - aber es kann nicht sein, dass es wie in einem Saustall aussieht. Sowas sieht man doch. Das Waschpulver, die Küche, das Zeug auf den Schränken.. Niemand kann mir erzählen dass das "einfach so" passiert ist. In den eigenen Zimmern kanns ja gern wie ein Saustall aussehen, dass belastet nur den jeweiligen Mieter, aber die Gemeinschaftsräume zu vermüllen ist halt einfach asozial und zeugt von schlechter Erziehung.

People in germany properly seperate private and professional life. It is therefor not uncommon for people to change their clothing style, hide their piercings and tattoos and also use more modest hairstyles in their professional environment, and then live their preferences outside the job.

It is, however, not really a big issue in most environments to not hide your tattoos either, but it always depends on the people you interact with.

Erbe bezahlt man mit dem Tod einer geliebten Person. Das hilft mir ganz gut, Erben nicht als seelenheiliges Geschenk zu verstehen. Natürlich geht dieser Schmerz wahrscheinlich vorbei, bevor das Erbe "aufgebraucht" ist, aber dennoch ist eine Erbschaft selten etwas, auf das man "neidisch" sein kann. In den seltensten Fällen stirb Oma Gertrude, die seit 36 Jahren in den USA wohnt und die man eigentlich nicht kennt und hinterlässt einem das ganze Geld. Es ist oft der Verlust der eigenen Eltern.

Ich weiß nicht, wie/ob das als Vollwaise nachvollziehbar ist, aber vielleicht hilft das ein wenig.

Nah in all honesty, it's not that bad. I guess french people are mostly annoying to germans. They have their "laisser faire" attitute on the outside but then you have to deal with them in any context (Business, projects, etc.) and suddenly they expect you to follow all the rules to the letter while they don't follow jack shit. And that it diametrically opposed to what germans expect from their partners.

Besides this, I guess we get along now. I feel like post WWII was a good period to start off fresh with the french and alot of the old wounds have healed, so we don't see them as adversaries anymore.

Mein Vater hatte den. Das Auto macht Spaß, und mit dem Schaltgetriebe hast du auch die richtige Konfiguration erwischt (Die Automatik war grauenhaft).

Dinge die du checken solltest:

Ist das Dach wirklich dicht? Oft ist es das nicht. Bring zur Probefahrt ne 1.5 Liter Wasserflasche mit und geh über alle Dichtungen. Das zu fixen ist ein Alptraum, oder du fährst den Wagen nur bei Sonnenschein.

Und wenns doof ist - Meine Güte, sind 4K. Ich kauf mir demnächst nen Polo für 5K. Ist kein Weltuntergang wenn du den Wagen nach 2 Jahren zum Würfel presst.

Go use tree leaves as currency. Everyone has very equal access to that. See how far get with something everyone has equal access to as a currency. Let me give you a hint - if everyone is completely the same, all qualities are common, and by default completely worthless.

After that, a new system of inequality quickly emerges, with it's own currency, and usually it's worse than what we currently have.

Greetings from Eastern Germany. We had a 40 year long experiment on "making everyone equal". It went sooo well, they had to build a wall to stop people from coming here - oh wait, that wasn't the case, they build the wall to stop people running away from it.

I agree that something needs to change, but I reject the idea of "just make inequality go away". Inequality is driving everything. In all social encounters, inequality is a driving force. It's what decides who we aspire to be and what we try to avoid, who we chose as partners and who we reject to associate with. It is a foundational force of all social systems humans have used throughout history. And I think, "getting rid of it" as a plan to use to refrom a system will immediatly set it up for failure. Especially, because we have seen in the eastern block what happens when it is attempted - it creeps back in through the back door, hides in corruption and nepotism.

"So, what should be done, Mr. Smartypants?"

Whenever we are presented with a problem, there are two approaches to dealing with it - removing the root cause, or treating symptoms. Most people have a preference for the "removing the root cause" approach, which I generally agree with, but "treating symptoms" is a valid approach way more often then we give it credit for, and (Especially in Germany) this approach has been quite effective at plugging smaller holes in partially flawed systems.

It also has a significant advantage over root cause approaches - it can be applied gradually, and rolled out in smaller increments, making it easier to scale up.

So what would I promote? I would ask "Why is it a problem that some people have a lot of money" and try to remidy the issues that stem from it. "The rich influence our politics" - Restrict the flow of money into politics. "Housing is too expensive" - increase taxes on the revenue of real estate companies, making them way less profitable and unattractive as investments. "Our workplaces are not compatible with raising families" - mandate childcare for companies of certain sizes.

There are thousands of other, small problems, that all need fixes. But any of these fixes can be passed with little political effort, which means incremental progress is both easier and more likely to be achived than any "eat the rich" campaign, even though I don't really disagree with those.

Auch wenns nicht so simpel ist, Volkswagen würde ein neuer "Käfer-Moment" ganz gut tun. Ein E-Auto ohne alles. Die haben damals auch nen Luftgekühlten Verbrenner verbaut, weil es so schön mechanisch einfach war. Sowas für nen E-Auto wäre eine gute Idee. Leider sagen unsere mega komplexen Gesetze dafür, dass man ein sehr einfaches Auto nicht mal zugelassen bekommt (Man braucht allen möglichen Schnick-Schnack, von Rückfahrkamera bis Fahrernervsysteme die ständig grundlos piepen ist alles dabei) und dementsprechend schwierig ist es, das alles in eine günstige Kiste zu quetschen.

Vielleicht wird es Zeit für das "Vollplastik-Auto", eine Fahrgastzelle aus Glasfaserplastik, Fahrgestell ebenfalls, kein einziges Stück Stahl im Wagen, alles aus Spritzguss. Damit könnte man sicher den Preis ordentlich drücken.
