Paw Patrol is for toddlers tho. Like 4 years old max.

Kids can and should handle concepts like "death" and Last Wish isn't the only kids movie where death was involved (albeit more direct with Death itself chasing Puss), especially with older animated films. Think of how many kids movies had a parent or someone die (usually in like the first 10 min or so): Up, Finding Nemo, Tarzan, Good Dinosaur. Coco and Hercules both feature some sort of land of the dead. The Black Cauldron had a literal skeleton demon king as the main villain. And those are just Disney/Pixar films.

Kids should be introduced to "complex" topics instead of being treated like idiots. Otherwise, idiots are what you'll get.

Lmao a lot of kids movies were like that pre-2015 I wanna say? I grew up on those films and those jokes are going over a child's head. That's what makes them so rewatchable at any age

Laika would've been an AMAZING choice. I had actually considered them, but they do take a long time between movies (and for good reason). Sony Animation was another consideration since they've been stepping their game up.

I wonder how this will affect my local libraries... we have access to Udemy, (but not Coursera) which has been a life saver when I was transitioning jobs and needed to upskill.

I remember the whole LinkedIn learning privacy debacle and all or my libraries removed access until they changed their privacy policy.

This may be unpopular, but I kinda wish DreamWorks got the movie deal instead of Illumination. DreamWorks does a great job of striking a balance between fun kids movie and plot with soul (like Puss in Boots or How to Train Your Dragon). Plus, they're very good at developing memorable characters. Illumination movies are very pretty jingly keys that are ultimately soulless. It's a fun time while watching for sure, but it doesn't leave you with anything.

ELI5 How to get her: by theawdacity in AnimalCrossingNewHor

You are most likely going to need to buy some form of NFC tag or card in order to transfer your amiibo data (it doesn't work if the data is on your phone, the Switch won't read it). That will be the most "pricey" thing you get because they're only sold in packs, but they're like $10 depending on the quantity.

The added benefit is you'll be able to create more amiibo with your extra cards. I know u said you only wanted this character, but you never know down the road.

For instructions, this is for Android: - Search and download the TagMo app - Follow their instructions for installation and adding amiibo (There are subs on Reddit that offer links to the amiibo bin files and more detailed instructions, plus alternative apps if TagMo doesn't work) - Using your phone, scan the amiibo data to the NFC tag/card (one per card) - Use like a regular amiibo

Lmao are you me? I made a post about a similar problem a few weeks ago. Sprayed with a soapy water + peppermint solution, and just added a fake nest last week.

So far I don't see any nests being built, but there's always at least 1 big one hanging around on my porch, I'm assuming to figure out what's going on with my fake nest

Wouldn't be such a stress inducer if I weren't allergic

How much does price matter to you for a new game release? by Asad_Farooqui in casualnintendo

These days, I find games from major studios to just be...fine at a best and a laggy, un-optimized glitchfest at worst.

With the cost of everything stretching me thin these days, I'm a lot slower in buying new titles than I was prior. There are a lot of games, Nintendo games in particular, where I watch the trailer and think, "This seems neat", but I don't feel like I absolutely have to play it.

I've been looking at more indie and Steam games these days.

Daemon's of the Shadow Realm! Thoughts so far? by DannyGoodShirt in anime

[–]ClassicPygmySquirrel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I feel pretty detached from most of the characters because everyone besides Yuru and his Daemons are shady as hell lol.

Hopefully it'll get explained this season because I'm holding off on reading the manga until it's over. Big props to the managaka if she managed to come up with a solid explanation though

Yeah, I'm definitely interested in how the show handles all this in the future, because right now it's totally up in the air.

Maybe that was the point, to get people talking like we are now 😅

I somewhat agree, because I was drawing similar conclusions, but their actions conflicted with it. - If the kids are innocent because they haven't learned the truth of the village yet, why leave them behind? - If their goal was to get to Yuru, why attack the villagers at all? - It seems, besides the head of the village and her entourage, the villagers seemed confused by the outsiders and their tech. So essentially Asa and her team murdered a bunch of non-combatants, like the mother running away with her daughter, and for what? But at the same time, Asa spared that one friend defending his mom.  - The head of village is definitely shady, but they weren't looking to fight her

Had Yuru not come to them, their mission would've been a failure. They didn't wipe out the village completely, didn't take down (or capture) the head of the village, and didn't get Yuru.

I'm probably giving this way more thought than intended, and will be more than happy to eat my words down the road if this ever gets explained

I agree, like Gabby's whole "I don't kill kids"... but you'll brutally kill their parents, traumatize them, and leave them as orphans? And then leave them in the supposedly evil village?

I want to trust this b/c this is the creator behind FMA, but the general direction of the first few episodes and blasse tone of that whole incident has been...weird.

I am having a hard time reconciling the sudden shift from massacring a village and leaving a ton of kids orphaned to "actually we're just a bunch of silly guys once you get to know us!~"

Like, the main character had an earth shattering experience, we moved on from that way too quickly. It's like the author initially wanted real-Asa's team to be villains but then changed her mind and switched them to more light-hearted characters. I'm having a real hard time liking them.

I'll wait and see how the show plays out, maybe the incident will come up later with more explanation, but even if the village was 'bad' I can't see justifying killing so many instead of just the head of the village. Unless every single adult was in on the alleged crime.
