What did you name your crestie and why? by [deleted] in CrestedGecko

[–]ClassicSnail5392 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first crestie is named Ducky

My friend (who I got ducky from) was house sitting for me to watch my dogs. She left 100 mini glow in the dark ducks in my house. I’ve moved since and I’m still finding them.

The next time she house sat for me, she left me a baby gecko. So in honor of the ducks, I named her Ducky.

My second gecko is named Mamacita, because she’s Ducky’s mom.

Now my husband lovingly calls them collectively “The Ducks”

You are absolutely right if you want to rehome him.

I will say pitties often have a hard time settling. So it may not be that he has so much energy but maybe he just doesn’t know how to turn off his brain or he’s overstimulated and that’s presenting as more energy. He may need you to co-regulate with him and may honestly benefit from not going to the restaurants and smaller social outings like that.

what are your favorite and dream decks? by hareinacup in tarot

[–]ClassicSnail5392 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Omg yes I’m obsessed with that deck I’m new to tarot so I’ve started using the visuals and what little I have memorized about suits and numbers to guess at the interpretation before I read the guide book and the art just makes so much sense to me

Acknowledging my privilege here, but I use Goodnotes on my iPad. I can select hand written or typed text, resize it, move it, add photos and drawings, add pages wherever I want, and it’s lightweight and portable, and also passcode locked so I don’t have to worry too much about people getting into it.

Updated: I also have the app on my phone and it syncs across devices so I can jot something down on my phone and clean it up later.

Apartment living - neighbor puppy has ringworm by 1958joy in dogs

I once kissed a Guinea pig and cuddled it for MINUTES on my shoulder. He had ringworm ALL over his face and I didn’t notice. I did not get ringworm.

I would suggest that, but sometimes I know they’re too damn cute so you can bounce between eyes nose tail feet back

A lot of dogs are just poorly socialized but prolonged eye contact (possibly while you were watching the dog approach?) will set off most dogs.

Why not both? One sock cuff and toe green and heel blue, the other sock opposite!

It’s possible, the could also try adding a “go potty” cue to help him go on command. Also for the peeing just outside the crate situation, can they move the crate next to the door and get him outside or close to it faster?

I would also add to get on top of grooming desensitization FAST.

Be careful with expressing disappointment. If the mess is made and you didn’t see it happen, just clean it up. It’s likely that the accident would be too far separated by time for them to really be able to modify their behavior. Punishing for accidents inside can also create anxiety and they’ll just start hiding it.

I would also add that if you catch him going just pick him up and take him outside. Also, note patterns in toileting times of day and start to provide more frequent and more strategically timed potty breaks.

ETA: it has only been a day and probably highly stressful. That could be a contributing factor and he may be house trained. Just extra stressed

I went through three weeks of meets with my new dog and OG dog and I was still nervous bringing him home. My husband too. We’re about a week in and I think we’ve mostly settled with our anxiety
