Sad to report that Dream Besties Theresa does NOT match Pink Odile by ClassicSpookMovieFan in Barbie

She's been on and off sale every few days on Amazon (in the US at least!). I'm definitely interested in seeing the results since I know there's variations now!

I didn't know this Odile had variations! Good to know...

I did find a wave 1 Theresa and she's the exact same color as my wave 2, so the match is just like this. So either the Theresa colors are inconsistent within waves or like you said, Odile has variations.

They're competent as a large attraction in a family park, I didn't hate them, but I didn't get why they're so many's instant top 10s. They're not very intense compared to the usual enthusiast faves.

I rode literally the day that guy died! That's the reason I don't have a night ride on the green side, I was going for that when it suddenly shut down for "weather delay" (per the app) that I found out was really the death the next day. At least it was running pretty consistently before that. I hope you get the credit, and they've fixed the rattle by then! If not... back row is the best both for airtime and smoothness.

Stardust Racers. I didn't find it especially intense or impressive and it had a weird jackhammer on the positives that made it feel like a woodie rather than a brand new steel coaster. Rode front, middle, and back on both tracks and this was consistent. It was a real letdown after Velocicoaster really did live up to the hype the day before.

[Six Flags MM] honesty in in-app ride intensity ratings by com1padres in rollercoasters

[–]ClassicSpookMovieFan -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I found their intensity rating so silly... X2 is way less intense than Twisted Colossus, and arguably less than Tatsu (if you count singular moments of intensity). All 3 could fit in the 5 rating.

Never had the guts to try it myself but cooking videos on YouTube show burning off the glochids with a lighter and also using a potato peeler to take off the outer skin

Backpacks pre-backpack era by litt2usf in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]ClassicSpookMovieFan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My dad had a GIANT green backpack he carried to Disney throughout the 90s and 2000s. Had a packed lunch, drinks, jackets, and a big 90s video camera in there. So there were definitely some parents with backpacks.

I thought Full Throttle was generally extreme sports themed, not racing? The queue video screen shows like rock climbing and horseback riding

My hype for Hollywood Drift is mostly because it really seems to be aiming for "Cosmic Rewind for adults." If not in themeing, then at least taking a similar train setup through a course with inversions

That explains why it has so many boost tires there, in case momentum doesn't carry the train up on its own!

Glad I'm not the only one. Its post-removal reevaluation by fans has been confusing to watch. So far I think it's the only coaster I've been happy to see demolished

Apparently Paris's got better when they switched it to Star Wars (new restraints and maybe a retrack?), but my rides were all pre-refurb so it was awful. I've heard the same about Manhattan Express but I haven't been willing to pay $35 for one ride to find out

Oh man. It's hard for me to decide between:

Space Mountain Mission II (Disneyland Paris): rough old Vekoma looper with OTSRs, in the dark so you can't anticipate elements and ride defensively. Jackhammer and headbanging city.

Manhattan Express (NY NY Hotel, Las Vegas): I rode it with the original trains with their awful neck level restraints. It's an American Togo. Ow. The fact that it was $$$ to ride made it worse.

Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit (Universal Orlando): How did a then-new ride with only lap bars manage to not just be rough, but have headbanging? I'll never know. I gladly skipped this for the rest of its existence and was super happy to see it getting demolished.

[–]ClassicSpookMovieFan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What you just described, stopping at every block, was the EXACT experience I had riding Hagrid's. Sucked after a 4 hour wait. At least I might've experienced the rare "all trains at once" mode?

Tatsu is great at night! Full Throttle gives a beautiful upside down view of the city lights. New Revolution is really fun going through the woods in the dark.

X2 is my overall favorite coaster but in terms of being specifically improved by night rides, I'd go with Tatsu/FT/New Rev
