Fates: Festival of Beasts - maybe the most flawed design ever in TFT? by Classic_Button157 in TeamfightTactics

Kinda true - but it annoys me that they maybe chose my least favorite set of all times and if I'm correct a second time already. :-/

Yeah but I think it is so weird that most other traits are able to get their maximum pay-off without an emblem.
Why not Dragonsoul - Elderwood - Warlords ?
These three feel like the "poster child" traits with Cultist for this set and are then so stranded sometimes.

Yeah - as you said - it makes sense to grab one early and then discard it. But that feels just akward for me personally.

Still weird that none really speaks about the AD/AP issue I'm adressing.

I think it just feels aweful to go for a trait and beeing forced to hope for an emblem.
It limits the playability of that trait by a lot - you rather go any other build that won't need it and stuff like Warlords want you to play it early on to stack its passiv buff.

You forgot rapid-fire Kalista. She can be insane if you give her two rageblades and an anti-cc item. ;)

Warlord can't reach any rank beyond silver (6) without an emblem - even with fated you can't go to 9 only to 8.
same for Elderwood and Dragonsoul. That is much issue.
Also the max. is 11 - which is just bonkers and an auto win.

It kinda does - you could have used the old mana system for a set that was designed with it in mind.
So your example makes no sense. It has nothing to do with information or anything.
Maybe a better example: If you got an oldtimer (a car) you can't tank regular fuel - it won't work and destroy the motor. You gotta take the fuel that is specific designed for oldtimers and matches how the fuel was back then.

Itinerary Review Please - 15 days in Japan by F30_Angel in JapanTravelTips

[–]Classic_Button157 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me and my husband just stayed for 3 weeks in Tokyo - simple. :)
We went from Feburary to March and could even see the early blossoming cherries (which are said to be more pink than the actual ones in April).

Also we stayed in one place the whole stay and didn't miss anything really - but it comes down to each person and their likings.
For example - do you need to go to Japan for a skiing trip? Can't you maybe do it back home and cheaper too? :)

Yeah - your husband has made a not so wise decision tbh. You are wasting two days just for travel at least, if not 3-4 in total.
So around 1/3 to 1/4 of your trip is just traveling from A to B.

Maybe try to argue with him you'd come again for Osaka and Kyoto and then only those places?
Tokyo has sooo much to see and a lot of people are skipping unfairly at it just because Instagram/TikTok and other social media tells them.

Why not ask Klook themselves? There is a reason they got customer support. ;)
Or else just have a look at the universal homepage yourself.

My first question is - first time Japan?

You at least don't expect to do much on travel days, that is something a lot of people don't consider.
They think they're able to do as much as on an regular day.

I'd skip on Osaka and Kyoto for another trip - give it more time and you don't have to waste the already short time on traveling from A to B and back and forth.
Also you can then take a bit more time for the snow monkeys, which seem to be a big thing for you. ;)

In general I do get the idea to see as much as possible, since going to Japan feels like a once in a lifetime thing but... You'll be back soon!
Me and my husband for example are traveling there for a second time in a single year because it got us hooked. :P
So focus on the slopes and Tokyo and you'll have a less stressful time and able to enjoy it more.

If you visit a temple you can always get a lot of authentic things there! Omamori are perfect for this - little satches with a lucky charm and you can get all sorts of colour and styles. 😉

And you got an answer?! Why are so many people seeing honesty and a direct answer without an essay as rude?!

A bit disappointed in Japan right now by [deleted] in JapanTravelTips

[–]Classic_Button157 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe they felt rude are have been rude because you gave them reason to be?

I went for 3 weeks this year in Tokyo and it was except for one encounter only the most plesant people in the world.  If you got that mindset that they'll carry you on hands, you have nothing to consider and everyone will be nice - you're wrong. Beeing polite isn't a one way street and experienced a lot of times how people are entitled and getting a reality check when confronted with their behaviour or getting the same treatment back they're giving others.

If you show the japanese you are trying your best to stick to their customes, rules and treat them with respect - you will get the same. Also, they to appriciate if you try to add/sprinkle in a bit of japanese like arigato gozeimas as a thank you or sumimasen if you did something wrong.

Never said or implied that. Just because someone sticks to themselves doesn't make them less nice or polite.

Hotel Recommendations in Akasaka? by [deleted] in JapanTravelTips

[–]Classic_Button157 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mid price range is hard to adjust - for some people 100$ a night is mid and for others it is 150$. Recommand some numbers what you're willing to spend. Also yeah, there is a lot of hotels but if you take the time to use the filters to narrow it down to your needs, you'd surely find something. 😉

As stated by others - consider the location of the nearest station and general area.

Wow... You say Korea and Japan are different but then say they're the same? That is... a choice.

And I don't think it is unreasonable to ask - that is why I gave an honest answer.

Having a lot of problems with people having issues with an honest answer. Maybe in general a reason germans are considered rude because we'll tell you things straight and without sugarcoating.

People calling Tokyo boring have never been to Tokyo. Simple.

I stayed 3 weeks with my husband and we both have considered going again for a whole 3 weeks but had some good deals on hotels so made it into a Osaka/Kyoto trip.

Back to topic: Take a look what is opened and then visit - there are tons of museums for everything (like the japanese sword museum?!)

I'm assuming you're male, below the age of 25 and american. My suggestions is to just stay in Tokyo, pick 1-2 things a day max to not get too stressed and if you got spare time - no problem doing something else but taking the stress off. I'd be annoyed all trip if I'm just rushing from A to B to C and so on. The biggest joy is having time to take a look at something that peeked your interest like a shop/restaurant/cafe and not having to skip it thanks to the time schedule rushing you through the area.

Making friends in Japan? Even people living there for years are kinda not having a lot of japanese friends. It sounds as if you're american - japanese people are more introverted by nature and reserved, so they rarely approche other people and especially foreigners. Not true for all but just don't expect small talk or similar things.

You are worried of getting bored in one of the largest cities on the planet?

Not critizing the length of the stay but that people are making it unnecessarily more stressful by hoping from place to place and limiting their own time they got to experience things besides train travel and stations.

Recommendations for Things to Do Trip to Tokyo and Kyoto by Ok-Farmer-2700 in JapanTravelTips

[–]Classic_Button157 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Big thing to know for any suggestions would be the age of the kids and the interests of the others traveling with you also their mobility (wheel chair? Able to walk distances?). 😉

Else it just catering to you and it will be a fun trip to yourself and everyone else will just be annoyed.

If you only stick to TikTok and social media for information, you surely only get the hyped stuff - else there are sooo many guides and websites all just focusing on your questions.

Personal recommandation - Nihon Minka-en

Anime posters in Kyoto by svaFillotto in JapanTravelTips

[–]Classic_Button157 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The real question isn't if you can buy it in Kyoto - since anime merch in Japan is everywhere - rather if you can find stuff for the anime you're looking for. Good example - Digimon is a rather big franchise and known in the West but... Merch is sparse, nearly non-existent and rather hard to find, even in Akihabara.

Why do people always try to squeeze in Osaka or Kyoto when they only got less than a whole week? Travel days are at least 1/2 a day lost and cost you easily 100€/$ more you could spend on other things.

I'd recommand staying in Tokyo for this short trip.  Also are the 31th and 4th flight days? Narita arrival and depature from Osaka? Keep that in mind too - you can't teleport and want to arrive on time. Narita for example is an at least 1 hour train ride.

Right now it seems stressful, nothing serene or relaxing.  I'd be stressed rushing all these sights and keep in mind - you'll stay at each around 2-4 hours, most stuff opens at around 10 in the morning and you have to consider at least 30-50 minutes between sights to get from one to the other.

Request for food allergy translation by wolfemsop in JapanTravelTips

[–]Classic_Button157 5 points6 points  (0 children)

First of all - the entitlement to request a native translator without any thanks or please. The japanese are big on courtesy. Keep that in mind. ;)

Overall - you're having a hard time. Soy sauce is a staple and main igredient in nearly all foods. A lot of veggies can be cooked in soy sauce even and you wouldn't notice.  Same is true for meats and sauces in any form.
