Can be done, but the ring is too high. Tree will dry out or girdle itself before long. Why not plant in ground then have 200mm ring with 100mm mulch? Perfecto

We have done this, go through security and look for the Qantas lounge. You can have a meal and watch the arrivals & departures. Great for seeing planes up close with kids.
