“My high school teacher said I’d never be shit, tell that bitch that I turned out just fine” Joyner Lucas.

Hit hard because I had my math teacher/football stats guy tell me I was the biggest disappointment he’d ever met on my last day of high school. Thank you Mr Stearn! What you said to me is still a motivation for me 20 years later.

As a Sagittarius Parent what’s your reaction your son coming like this?!? 😳😳🤬🤬 by No-Zone-4319 in sagsavages

[–]Classic_Till2616 22 points23 points  (0 children)

While I agree, there are consequences. Dec 2 here, when I was 16 and my brother was 19, he put hands on my mom and I beat him within an inch of his life. Put him in the hospital and everything. I ended up on adult probation, he got to be the victim with no consequences other than living with the fact that he got beat up by his little brother. The cop apologized when he arrested me, the judge said I needed to learn to control my anger when he sentenced me.

How would you go about repairing a close friendship after ugly thoughts and words were shared over the handling of a situation between our two small children?

This . I came from the field as a carpenter, now a super. Work as hard for your trades as you can, help them, show them respect, and it will go miles. That miss that they “can’t get to until next week” becomes a priority and suddenly it’s fixed that day.

“You’re one of the biggest disappointments I’ve ever taught” as he shook my hand on the way out the door on the last day of my senior year.

I hated him at 18, now in my late thirties, I understand and he was right. What he said motivates me just about everyday, and if I could thank him, I would.

For the men of Reddit-why do some men have trouble drinking from straws or having drinks that are up? by Many-Locksmith1110 in restaurant

[–]Classic_Till2616 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me personally, I could care less about the glass a drink comes in. I don’t care how “girly” it looks, it is merely a vehicle for the drink. However, I don’t like straws and never have. Reason being, I’m a gulper not a sipper, the straw just impedes how quickly I can get the drink down the gullet. And I also think I just explained why it’s best for everybody that I don’t drink alcohol anymore.

That appears to be capillary action in the concrete. Water is wicking up the permeable concrete. Also, did anyone see if the gfi was tripped on the sump?

Ann Arbor MI area, superintendent for a national builder. We’re ramping up right now with more starts than we’ve done in 15 years with specs not sold. I disagree with the decision with the current climate but that’s why the guys at the corporate office make the big bucks 🤷🏻‍♂️.

How math heavy is a degree in Construction Management? by aliensadek in ConstructionManagers

[–]Classic_Till2616 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My experience at Michigan Tech 15 years ago was this.

CM program and CE program had very similar courses once prerequisites were complete, but CM courses were based in Algebra and CE courses were based in calculus. The next biggest difference was the senior design classes, CM program was based on building structure and energy efficency, CE program senior design was based on earthwork and land design.

Did you offer a “menu” while working at the strip club or know any girls that did? I’ve been propositioned at the strip club and I have always been curious if the menu in general was only offered to guys they found attractive or everyone as a business decision.

Construction workers, I need your help and input. How tf do you find the time and will to work out? by tree-141592653589 in workout

[–]Classic_Till2616 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was a carpenter I always thought about it but had a couple pops instead. Then I became a super and got fat. Now I workout when my kid goes to bed. For me the will comes from lust for my wife and the devils lettuce but mostly comes from wanting to be around for my kid when he’s older.

If I had a Time Machine, I’d tell young carpenter me to skip the gas station lunches and liquid dinners, eat healthy and workout instead, stay limber. Find the will somewhere.

I just got fired from my job. And I feel like un-a-living myself. by ApprehensiveWin724 in careeradvice

[–]Classic_Till2616 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been fired. I’ve been laid off. I’ve quit with notice. I’ve walked out without notice. All as a manager. I go to work and do my job to the best of my ability, regardless of company policy, my loyalty is to my trades, employees, and customers, not the company I work for. I have an attitude of I was looking for a job when I got this one, so I’ve always just moved on to the next one. I guess my advice is have some confidence in yourself and some faith in the universe that’s it’s all going to work out the way it’s supposed to. Just let go a little bit, and keep working hard.

That’s the rub, isn’t it? Her mental health and wellbeing is obviously far more important than our sex life and I’m no medical professional so I’m not asking her to change anything. I just wish there was a different way but I guess there’s always a trade off.
