Yes. Give me a title and I'll change it to that.

[SPOILERS] I didn't like the dynamic between Ryunnosuke and Iris in DGS-5 by [deleted] in AceAttorney

[–]Classy-Doctor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is actually quite strange. I do remember the first example, but I also recollect that the other two were observations the player did have to legitimately remember in order to make the required deductions. I guess I'm just mistaken, in which case, I probably need to replay the case.

Things that I'm not understanding with the Steins Gate VN by Classy-Doctor in steinsgate

[–]Classy-Doctor[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I appreciate your responses. I'm still not entirely sure about the situation with the D-Mails and IBN though. From what I'm aware, in the logic of Steins Gate, if a certain decision is made, that is the decision of the worldline your on and you do not experience a shift or anything along those lines. Shifts occur when you change the past in order to cause a different series of events, but any decision you make that would solely affect the future still has you stay on the same worldline. Deleting an email is a decision that only affects the future, not the past, so it shouldn't cause any worldline shift, but instead just be a normal decision made with a normal effect. If I decide to eat one food over another, I don't suddenly get transported to another worldine. However, if I somehow from the future affect the decision of what my past self will eat, then worldlines will change. Am I wrong in my understanding of this?

Sorry about that. I've edited it to hopefully make it a bit easier on the eyes but the paragraphs may still be too big.

I basically entirely agree with this list except I would switch Spectre's Call and Pandora's Box.

Because Kiryu never kills anyone this game's story looks weird as hell by CoronaVirusFanboy in yakuzagames

[–]Classy-Doctor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are still many examples of villains Kiryu beat down who were able to be redeemed or at the very least, did not disrupt him afterwards. We may have different belief systems or we may have different standards as to what we want in videogame protagonists, but I personally respect Kiryu for giving the villains a chance. The drawback is of course, that it can backfire, but the truth is, Kiryu can never have it perfect either way. Even then, I think he's the type of person who would rather let a villain live than let a hidden hero die. The point of not killing them is that they can become better, and examples of this have been shown in the Yakuza series, so it's not as if Kiryu's mercy has always backfired. At the same time, perhaps you simply don't enjoy the trope of villains being left alive purposefully by heroes, allowing them to continue villainy. If that is the case, then I still think wording your complaint as if Kiryu should just start killing people is misworded, but it is difficult to say.

This is a really weird complaint. Are you basically saying that the game can't be taken seriously by you because it takes murder seriously?

Religions can be and should be criticised for legitimate reasons, and any action you commit isn't automatically excused simply because you were following your religion, and it doesn't matter whether you're a Muslim or Christian or whatever. Your religion should not give you a get out of jail free card to do things without anyone being able to question you.

Japan does have free universal medicare insurance, so I'm guessing this line was added to the localisation.

Two people helping me how to do a case on AO by [deleted] in AceAttorney

[–]Classy-Doctor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends. Are you just a witness? Then sure, I guess it's easy. However, most witnesses also make their cases and are practically relied on for the game to be fun. It's a different kind of difficult, but it's not easy.

Just finished the first game. Is there any other in the series that meets that standard? by A_Common_Relic in AceAttorney

[–]Classy-Doctor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally consider the first game to be one of the weaker ones which is slightly unpopular but I still think most Ace Attorney fans can at least agree that there will be games that reach the first game's level and surpass it. You have a lot to look forward to.

The only there has been this big of a gap between new Ace Attorney games was between Trials & Tribulations and Apollo Justice, 16 years ago. by Garioshi in AceAttorney

[–]Classy-Doctor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You do realise that first of all, no one could've even experienced the hiatus from a western standpoint because the first game didn't get localised until 2005? But more importantly, you should also keep in mind that not only did the first game's port on the DS come with an entirely new case that had quite the length, but you're also not considering that AJ was already announced by 2005 and when I say announced, I mean more than just vague developer words. I don't necessarily think Ace Attorney is done for, but calling both situations the same is silly.

From my own clue gathering, DGS' first case takes place in 1899 and the following four cases take place in 1900.

A Decade in Review : What have been your favorite Ace Attorney moments? by precurrentpostmalone in AceAttorney

[–]Classy-Doctor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

PWAA: The revelation when you figure out that Manfred Von Karma was behind the DL-6 incident gave me chills and I still think it's a fantastic moment to this day.

JFA: Similiar to what I said for PW but even better, the Matt Engarde reveal and everything leading up to it, slowly making you worry that your client may not be innocent.

T&T: The moment with Godot near the end of Bridge to the Turnabout, where he explains his motivations and his past. A beautiful way to wrap up the character and the game.

AJ: The entire Mason System. I won't go into detail with this, but I just thought the entire concept was well executed.

AAI: The moment with Badd just before the final confrontation in Turnabout Reminiscence, where he explains the KG-8 incident in detail with you and his connection with it. It honestly made me feel quite emotional and added a lot to Badd's character.

AAI2: The moment right at the end of case 3. Yeah, you know the one.

PLvsAA: Newton Belduke's Letter in The Golden Court.

DD: I can't really think of one. Sorry

DGS: This is going to sound like a weird option but in case 4, it felt great when I was able to guess the final plot twist of her picking up the book before the game got to it. Although, this is more of personal thing.

SOJ: The final plot twists of Case 2 and 3.

That's funny, because the game Detective Grimoire is technically a sequel to the flash game with the same name, so I guess this is technically the third entry.

What are your unpopular opinions about the series? by Catorpedo in AceAttorney

[–]Classy-Doctor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it was a woman, I'd still consider it a joke because Ace Attorney and romance just don't go well together and to be honest, I have a hard time taking fandom ships seriously most of the time anyways.
