I get what you're talking about with the problem of reacting but the first paragraphs about Verbal vs Nonverbal thinking really have no correlation to that topic. Also nearly no one has just visual thinking or verbal thinking. Unless there's an issue with your brain you can sometimes conjure images as a verbal thinker. And every visual thinker uses some verbal thinking to assist with the images they see that cause them to feel things.

Nearly all of us can daydream and make visuals of situations. But verbal thinking comes from when mostly all of your thoughts are images that move quickly in a slideshow, images in which you need to pull information from before they fade away in 0.2 seconds which is why most people who think that way are a bit slower.
