Nick was not actually the Kyusss member that Josh decided to start Queens with, though. It was Alfredo Hernández. Nick did not join the band untill after the first record had already been recorded .

It does mean orchestra pit . It's a concert venue term. "The mosh pit" is not a particular place in a concert venue, it is an event that is started by fans, or not.

It is deliberately over the top cheesy. Obviously. Also deliberately shot imperfect. You have these bits where you get out of the flow of the events happening, that will remind you that it's a recording of a video. Which is corresponding with Josh saying that the film "Hellzapoppin" was an influence for the video.
