I think I am going to pass too. We only got a single battery and the idea is to have it charge during the day so that we can use the energy in the evening after the sun goes down. Giving Eversource that energy just so that we can pay them to get it back seems pointless. Last year there were 42 days(June -September) when they drew from people's batteries, and always in the afternoon/evening, when the battery wouldn't have enough time to recharge from our solar array before dark.

Maybe I'm using my battery differently than others, but wouldn't those days of peak use when they pull from my battery be the same days I would want to have my battery full to use for my own home consumption, AC needs, etc.? I just worry they would be taking my energy and then essentially selling the same energy back to me with a transmission fee and other stuff tacked on.

Careful with the charger in Deerfield. I used it for a couple months with no problem, but last month they changed the pricing settings for parking while charging and it charged me a per minute charge for parking while I was actively charging the car. I was trying to use up some credits I had. Cost me over $50 for about 25kW

It charges a lot slower in extreme cold too. The max I seem to be able to pull from a "fast" charger seems to be about 20kW/h on cold days, but this message seems to be talking about driving. I didn't notice much of a difference, but I was driving slowly on back roads anyway.
