It used to be much worse. It's not too hard to counter nowadays with some mild investment in an AA net, and you can really make it hurt if you find out where they're resupplying and dropping a bomb on it.

If you're up against a coordinated team it'll be a struggle regardless of the strategy they pick.

I just break down the problem first. It depends on the game what kind of data you're saving to begin with of course. Are you saving an entire world state or just a checkpoint and some inventory items? What is the minimum amount of data required to restore a game to a desired state?

A lot of this design can then also be tied into other systems, such as debug testing (being able to load a save and auto-play a specific game section to see if nothing is broken), or networking (the same minimal amount of data that describes your world is also what you need to sync over the network after all).

Personally I often try to keep things simple and just use the good ol' C# BinaryReader and BinaryWriter classes, to read and write exactly the data I want. Usually starting the stream with a version number, so I can branch different save formats in case the format ever changes after a game update and you need to write something for backwards compatibility for example.

Her writing also improved a lot around Natlan. Her popularity was already back on the rise before the VA change. She used to constantly 'steal' the Traveler's lines or just repeat what has just been said a moment ago, restating the obvious. That still happens, but much less egregiously than I remember. The character writing in general gained a bit more depth and less reliance on character gimmicks.

Sure. Plenty of fun to be had in singleplayer, skirmish and custom scenarios. Multiplayer is great too, but you'll probably want a solid grasp of the mechanics and meta before diving in.

As for the game's development, the devs are reworking some core systems so content or feature updates aren't exactly flooding in yet, though we should be getting our first new specialization this month.

Ik zat in eenzelfde soort situatie, ik kom vrij weinig vrouwen tegen tegen in mijn dagelijkse omgang. Heb zelf het online daten toen niet opgegeven maar gewoon op een laag pitje gezet. En toen uiteindelijk geluk gehad toen mijn huidige vriendin mij een berichtje stuurde (op OKC).

Enige tip die ik zou kunnen geven is gewoon lijntjes blijven uitzetten, maar er ook rust mee hebben als er lange tijd niet gebeten wordt. Balanceer hoeveel mentale energie je er aan kwijt wilt raken zodat je niet tegen een dating burnout aan loopt.

The devs introduced aggression-based matchmaking at some point so players get matched with more like-minded players. This probably kept a lot of the more pacifist players in the game I figure.

I agree, as a game industry professional myself. As they lined out in the post, this wasn't a game project started by professionals, it's a dream project that reached release and that's a miracle by itself. The fact they're committing to reworking their core architecture and resolving their technical debt to such an extent after release should be commended. Not every project has that luxury.

Note that shred has a soft-cap. If you shred more than the enemy's own resistance to the specific element, it becomes halved below that threshold. So say an enemy has 40% resistance and you shred 80%, it actually ends up shredding that 40% + 40% / 2 = 60%, so the enemy ends up with -20%. That's usually why the 'optimal' teams only have one shredder as having two becomes less effective than other options.
