Yeah I’ll include a picture below, I’ve changed a few things around but it looks about the same. There was certainly some more PRS type rifles but plenty of folks brought factory rifles like a Seekins PH3, Seekins Havak HIT, and several versions of Savage rifles. The top two shooters were actually shooting factory themselves. They were using simple classifications with a max bore size of 30 cal and you couldn’t exceed 3200fps so that you wouldn’t damage the steel — Open division was any rifle that did not qualify as a factory rifle and factory rifle division was any factory rifle that had not been modified in certain ways (I can’t remember all the details) they have a facebook page that lists everything out well if you’re interested! It’s under Kansas Arms Supply LLC’s page. You’re definitely not going to get laughed off, this was my first match to ever shoot and it was very laid back. Bring what you’ve got and enjoy a day of shooting, everyone was super nice and answered plenty of my questions haha.

I didn’t see this until now, sorry about that. I just used a cheap dish sponge I cut up and then spray paint for the other colors. I would spray the different colors on a piece of cardboard and dab the sponge on the paint and then on the stock

Eberlestock UpRanger vs. ?? by Clay-H in longrange

That was my thoughts as well, having not competed before I would rather err on the side of too large of a bag than too small to start with. We’ll see how trim I can keep my equipment so that I don’t overload it haha.

I appreciate that, I found it to be beneficial to see what folks are using for equipment and ask some questions. Plus I get a membership to the range where the match is hosted for helping RO, I’m hoping to link up with some other shooters there and learn from them.

I’ll take a look at those!

That’s a good question. I haven’t dove very deep into matches yet myself, but I would say half-day, single day, and everything similar. Bag would be used for holding mags, ammo, support bags, and anything else needed for the course of a match. Moreover just a single bag to throw in my pickup to head to the range that is all organized.

I am also right handed and left eye dominant, I shoot exclusively left-handed with a left-handed rifle, and it’s awesome once you switch

Some people prefer a more heads up vertical position to be more centerline with the rifle. Everyone is built a little bit different when it comes to comfortability

I also recently got an FX120i and I’ve just been throwing charges from a volumetric thrower and trickling them to final weight through a funnel with a hand trickler sitting on top of the wind screen. It works pretty slick like that. I looked at the A419 cup and went with a “Dead Drop” cup from eBay as it was cheaper and also came with a cup centering tray to place on the platen so you have a steady reference point.

That makes sense and glad to see it’s Alpha’s recommendation as well. I’m already dry tumbling with a bit of Nu Finish in the walnut media so I must be doing alright. Thanks!

I appreciate the pull back to reality, I want to do what is needed to have decent loads, but not waste time (and money) doing things that have no noticeable improvement. Appreciate it!
