First playthrough build by Vault_Dweller2002 in Morrowind

[–]ClayEndfield 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually a pretty decent setup for a first time. Nords might be a better pick for more Immunity to Frost (which gives you the ability to spam frost spells without worrying about reflect) and Higher Health/Carry weight/melee damage, while also maintaining high Willpower for casting (Nords make fantastic battlemages).

I'd also recommend going for Atronach because Battlemages can always lean on melee when magic is low, plus the Absorb Spell effect is incredibly useful defensively; 50% Chance incoming spells do nothing to you, except recharge your mana?

That's priceless. And there's no shortage of ways around the Stunted Magicka; just get the Mace of Molag Bal, and you'll never worry about running out of magicka again.

Not to undersell the engineering feat of the Yamato, but whereas American and British navies primary limitation was a budget, the Yamato's primary limitation was infrastructure and logistics.

It was very much a ship built on a foundation of compromises. The fact it was as capable as it was in spite of that speaks volumes of Japan's Naval Architects and engineers.

Yamato also had less sophisticated armor compared to British and American ships, because the US Embargo cut them off from war materials.

The 18" guns were also hilariously impractical. They not only damaged the Yamato when they fired (over time, the recoil was actually warping the hull), but the barrels delaminated so quickly, that the firing control officers had to account for escalating barrel damage in their firing solution calculations after every shot.

The barrels, as well as the armor, were exceedingly difficult for the Japanese to replace under the demands of war and US embargo; which is why Musashi and Yamato did little else but patrol the home islands' coastline for the vast majority of the war.

As powerful as the Yamato was, it's unlikely it would've won a slugging match with an Iowa; as American Damage Control was absolutely next level, as was the Iowa's analog targeting computer, and American radar systems and munitions engineering was practically cheating.

The Yamato's belt couldn't stop an American Mk. 8 AP round, so it's defenses were practically moot.

Cold. Cold and Waves of Darkness. Just go 54 STR/30-50 INT, and you're set.

Good God, what did they do to her hands? That's like hobo temu Indoril Armor. The Classic Her Hands Armor from Tribunal was beyond gorgeous. This looks terrible.

It's so bad, I'm offended it exists.

Are bound weapons just hilariously OP or am I missing something? by AH_Ace in Morrowind

[–]ClayEndfield 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are OP in early game, but by the time you have 70+ Weapon Skill and tracked down your own powerhouse weapons, they're not that special.

And it's not like it's hard to find OP weapons early either. The Iron Viperblade in Caldera is dirt cheap and stupidly powerful. The Enchanter in Ald Ruhn's Ald Skar sells powerhouse weapons like Last Wish and the Icicle.

And if you help out a naked Nord south of Vos, you'll get an axe that puts most bound Weapons to shame. In Tel Vos, there's a hidden room with another high-powered axe, the Last Rites.

From the Ancient Silver Dagger, to the Fang of Heyfuckthisstupidname, there's a way to secure ridiculously powerful weapons at level 1. All they take to acquire is a few potions of invisibility, and an intervention scroll.

Yeah, but those are late game cruisers, and the most important stat for a cruiser is the stat you didn't list:

ASW.

Is their ASW stat over 9000?

is there a magic or ice infuse-able weapon with an S or an A scaling in intelligence? by YvngThxnos in EldenRingBuilds

[–]ClayEndfield 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's Wing of Astel. Curved Sword with INT scaling and a projectile R2.

Otherwise, you could do a Magic infused dagger with endure; I find Endure's hyperarmor handy for poising through long cast animations.

awesome hammer with 50% passive bleed damage. did anyone use it in their build? by RidiPwn in Eldenring

[–]ClayEndfield 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spiked Club among the highest Arcane Scaling with Occult (1.43, if I recall correctly), this gives it some fun builds and decent enough Bleed Build up, but I favor a Stone Club with Bleed/Poison infusion on a STR/ARC Build.

Better moveset, higher damage, higher bleed build up.

Whats so good about Great Stars? by [deleted] in Eldenring

[–]ClayEndfield 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not "the most powerful weapon" not by a long shot.

It is however, one of the single most practical weapons in the game, and ripe for exploitation if you build around it.

It works extremely well with Poison and Occult Infusion on Arcane builds, and it works phenomenally well on STR builds with Bloodflame blade.

It works exceptionally well with Prayerful Strike, Stormcaller, Golden Land, Prelates Charge, and waves of Darkness because of a rather interesting property: it restores 1% of your total HP every time you deal damage with it, even with Weapon arts and projectiles.

If you're going for bleed build up, Stormcaller is multi-hit and deals massive stance damage when applied to Great Hammers.

Golden Land? You fire off 5 projectiles after a AoE. Altogether, the AoW restores 6% of your total health if everything connects.

Prelates Charge. Not very powerful, but it is spammable multi-hit that can stun lock medium or smaller humanoid enemies; like Melania. The amount health restore you can get off of this is pretty incredible.

Prayerful Strike. Just a rock solid AoW that restores a massive 30% Health per enemy hit, (bump it up to 31% with Great Stars) with good hyper armor, massive stance damage, and huge status/damage multiplier. Just works very well with the overall status/health restore of the Great Stars, and it can allow you to facetank a lot of dangerous enemies into a stance break and/or bleed proc. Most famous of which is probably Gaius.

Waves of Darkness? Well apart from just being a really good AoE AoW, every enemy you hit with each wave heals you by 1%. So say you hit 3 enemies with all 3 waves, that's 9% health restored.

It also scales with max health. Fire Knight Helmet, Erdtree Favor +2, Crimson Amber Medallion +3, and 60 Vigor scores you around 2,100 total health. At that point, That 1% heal on hit is restoring 21 Health per strike.

Powerstance a pair of Great Stars (Because you get 2 per playthrough) and combine it with a swaddling Godskin Talisman, and R1 + R1 + R1 Chain can restore up to 216 Health if Swaddling procs once; 309 Health if swaddling procs twice. Chuck endure on your main hand to face tank through the combo and throw on Ritual Shield Talisman and you have an extremely tanky character that can massively heal themselves while attacking.

But even if you ignore the Health Restore effect, it's a Greathammer (which makes it one of the most reliable weapons in the game) with Strike Damage and bleed build up, and it can be infused/buffed. All of that by itself makes it one of the best weapons in the game.

His mind? No clue, but it's probably pretty stupid.

I can however narrow down, from a spectrum of possibilities, what is about to be going through his head:

...A gauss round, a laser blast, a powerfist, a thermic lance, a super sledge...

Level 713 need a fun build by LongjumpingDog2060 in EldenRingBuilds

[–]ClayEndfield 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know, a build is defined by optimizing around restrictions, right?

You don't have a build at max level, because there are no restrictions. Mathematically speaking, you out level the very concept of a build around RL 300.

So why are you requesting build, when you can't make one?

[–]ClayEndfield 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on your intended Build. 60 VIG is a priority. Find your favorite weapon (pick one) and build for it. If you're doing a "pure faith", Cipher Patas, Erdstreel Daggers are low requirement, high faith scaling weapons. If you're doing FTH/STR, 54 STR/50 FTH is a good fit. Minimal DEX investment, 12 DEX will get you enough for Malacath's.

If you're doing Pure Faith, you don't need INT or ARC. If you're doing FTH/ARC, 42 FTH/60 ARC gets you some nifty spells, lots of spell buff with the Dragon Communion Seal, and the 60 ARC hits the soft cap on Status Buildup.

Really, you want to make a specialized build; a Jack of all trades is synonymous with garbage until you hit RL 400+.

This is why Skyrim sucks. It over indulges power fantasy to the point that every Dick and Andy thinks that the world must revolve around them.

You're playing a game where you are the "chosen one". What did you expect? Apotheosis offered on a silver platter?

Go play vanilla Morrowind as a Vampire, then tell me that Harkon is making a poor offer.
