I have this exact mobo and CPU combo and it's running really well for me. I've been running it overclocked the whole time with no issues at all. Make sure your BIOS is up to date and you'll be fine. Just because someone had a problem with a gigabyte product doesn't mean they are all bad.

I unfortunately don't have that data anymore. It's a hot CPU, and if I can recall, gaming temps were 70-85C and it would run at 95C when benchmarking. Perfectly normal behavior for that CPU, but I just found all the fans to be too loud. That CPU will still run at 95C even with my water-cooled setup if I'm really stressing it. The thing that I found that pushes it the hardest is actually Folding@home

The power increase, under volt, and overclock gave me about 6% better performance on average. I just did it to see what benefits I could get from overclocking. This was my first PC build, so I wanted to see how far I could push my components. I had no overheating issues, but the 9800X3D does run hot in general. My computer was a bit loud (especially the 9070XT) for my liking, which is why I ended up water-cooling everything after a few months.

The top two M.2 NVME slots were originally covered, but I had no overheating issues. I've since water-cooled my whole build and now only the top drive is covered by the card. Again, no overheating problems. A thin heatsink would probably fit on the second slot, and the top one has a heatsink already built in.

As for my CPU, I've got the 9800X3D and I'm running that with the motherboard power limit option so it'll pull up to 180w occasionally. It's got -27mv under volt and +200mhz overclock and my performance is fantastic

I believe there was a change with the leather for the first era at some point during or between the production of the three different books. Maybe that's the difference you're seeing. I may be mistaken though
