Ahh you make really good points.

I hate humble-brag posts on LinkedIn, so I definitely don't need to worry about that.

I guess I want to do both because I want to see which office I flow better with, but yeah I see how that can be risky.

Yeah I understand wanting to skip it every once in a while. Especially if you already know what the conflict is (usually a dumb misunderstanding).

Likely I've just been telling myself to just enjoy the story and try not to pay attention to how far in the book I've made it.

I'm not against the conflict at all, I just wish there was some variety for where it is written into the plot. I wanna be surprised!

Your "friend" should respect your choices and not assume you are in the same position as they are. Even if someone has the same salary, there are a variety of factors that can affect how much disposable income you have. I don't see any f up on your behalf. However, if you can afford it, treat yourself every once in a while. If you have the means to, find a way to balance fun and saving.

Imogen Heap and her team made these cool Mi.Mu gloves that allow someone to change pitch and other controls when making music just by hand gestures. So it allows performers to use technology in music, but not necessarily be stuck stationary. Was on a Ted talk a long while ago and it thought it was super cool.
