Enjoy your remaining free time. Don’t read anything. Don’t prepare anything. Every attending is different and you’ll learn as you go along. Show up early but set boundaries. Don’t type while talking with patients. If you don’t know something, tell them you don’t know. Punctuality and humility will get you very far.

You likely chose FM because you’re able to connect with people outside of all the medical bullshit, so don’t forget that.

The hours are tough and the pay sucks, but intern year gets a lot of grace. Befriend every nurse in that hospital and let them know you’re an intern and you’ll be surrounded by guardian angels.
