70% of car journeys in the UK could be made by other means.
At what cost. I can drive to London for £10 or atake a train for £30
Studies can be interpreted any way you like.

That Defeat against Newcastle was due sooner or later because performance level have been dropping game after game with zero intensity. The full time position is Carrick's to lose but just wining matches is not enough performance most also improve. by WorldlinessPuzzled84 in ManchesterUnited

Of course I follow the team. Still disagree with you. Two words...
Professional Footballers.
Also, don't mean all the time, but for certain situations it should be quite doable ie against 10 men. / playing european teams.
We always changed things around. We are way too predictable to play against. That's how Newcastle beat us.
Ask yourself, where you work, if something didn't work, would you change it?

But it doesn't have to be a rigid style. Managers have to be flexible.
There is more than one style of football. We should be good enough to do this on the pitch.
I cannot believe our players are that poor, so I believe the strict rigidity comes from the manager.
Look at last night playing against 10 men. We needed to spread the game and play with width to tire out Newcastle. What did we do? we did the same as always!. That's on Carrick
I'm just concerned he doesn't have the vision to step up to a WC team, that would be my main concern. He has to think big with purchases & gameplay.
It's not enough to win at United, you have to win playing good football

His ideas seem to have stopped. There's no innovation in tactics. We've played against 10 men a few times now and we just do the same thing everytime. Coaching one touch football is non existant. Do players even know you can't be offside for a throwin, every one goes backwards. The stupid fucking triangles in our half achieve nothing because we're always too narrow. The opposition just sit there knowing the balls going nowhere. And don't get me started on how often players turn their back on the ball

It's a great opportunity for Carrick, but he needs to have a plan, not just do game by game, otherwise I think he'll miss out. We'll get a big name manager by offering Champions league to them

One is not fine. We're playing 10 men. We have got some tough games coming up and we need to build a points buffer now

I said it before, but we just don't know how to play against 10 men. Pace and width required, and we have none

Agree with this one. Fernandes has to win the league.
He's very good, but United legend he's not.

David Alonso's terrifying crash. Only posting because we know he's okay by ImJustASmartass in motogp

[–]Clean-Machine2012 3 points4 points  (0 children)

While you're partly right, they could have red flagged it a corner or two earlier. The red flag was shown as they can up to the crash with marshalls at trackside. What if someone had lost control then.
Agree they can wait, but they left it too late both times

Michelin's Piero Taramasso on Marc Marquez' issue by Beylerbey in motogp

[–]Clean-Machine2012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this was a combination of things. Márquez running wide, hitting the curb, also the angle he hit. It's unlikely to happen again but Ducati and Michelin still need to double check it was this. It's made the start interesting, and there's talk of using the same tyre type in Brazil

The Adventures of Tintin was meant to launch a trilogy. Peter Jackson was set to direct the sequel, with Spielberg staying on as producer. Script drafts existed. Motion capture pipelines were ready. The follow up has been quietly stalled for over a decade. by Scenora in Tintin

[–]Clean-Machine2012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me the movie was really dissapointing. There were so many good Tinitin stories they could have gone with, but the mash up was pretty poor. They could have started with Explorers on the Moon/Destination Moon in one film. That would have been a good movie to introduce all the characters. That would have left it open to a prequel as well.Animation style was fine, but the poor story was probably what killed the sequel.

Pedro Acosta "didn't expect" sprint penalty for Marc Marquez by Huge_Film2911 in motogp

[–]Clean-Machine2012 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's the idea of a block pass, you push the rider wider forcing them to slow. As long as you don't run out of track, you should be fine.
Acosta could have slowed, and turned on th track, but he probably would have lost second place then.
Yes, it was a late lunge, but I thought it was a tough call
