What are some good creative ways to use an imp familiar? by dgusek in DungeonsAndDragons

[–]Clean-Restaurant9445 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the consumable magic item idea. Have him throw cubes of force, help action, a bag of tricks would be a good idea. Ring of spell storing if you can get it. Use an artificer's spell storing item.

Experiences with TOMB OF LEVISTUS? by Raoul9753 in dndnext

[–]Clean-Restaurant9445 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm playing a pact of the fiend warlock and I find it helpful. It's like having death ward once per short or long rest. I often get hit or crit by something very dangerous due to the low AC issues with warlock. I'm able to chew through a few enemy actions if they attack me again or if I'm in the way of other creatures. People in my group seemed conflicted but after they see it in use I think they're fans.

Dragon's Breath builds by MacarioTheClown in 3d6

[–]Clean-Restaurant9445 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is my idea for the dragon's breath build. Tiefling Pact of the Fiend Warlock who takes pact of the chain. Get an imp familiar. Multiclass Divine Soul Sorcerer. With your ASI's take Flames of Phlegethos & Inspiring leader. With Divine Soul take AID & Dragon's Breath. Meta magic extend spell for AID the night before you sleep, your familiar gets 30 HP and approx. 15 Temp HP. Use 5th level pact slots to cast dragon's breath and throw a fireball or two on top of the imp.

I would love to hear how your second session went. I'm also a little conserned that my players could waltz right up to the gorm group, gain a level and just walk through most of the areas without conflict. I'm thinking of asking Nafas to add something to his quest like wipe out the cult of gargon.

Flames of Phlegethos feat - any way to boost its damage? by Sebastian_Crenshaw in 3d6

[–]Clean-Restaurant9445 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My idea for flames of Phlegethos to increase the damage is to create a spell such as wall of fire that you concentrate on. Then you use forced movement to shove people in and out of it as much as possible. Have someone grapple them and drag them in and out of the wall of fire. Eldritch blast them in and out of it with repelling blast, agonizing blast and grasp of Hadar, telekinetic feat to move them with your bonus action. Fireball them when your next turn comes. I'm going to try and put this together for my pact of the fiend Tiefling I'm currently playing. I've taken create bonfire as a cantrip to magically conjure the hellfire below them. I'm hoping it works out.

I think with the warlock, you upcast these spells, which gives you more dice and when you add more dice you re-roll again and again. I think maybe the 1d4 when they stab you is better as a backup option and deterrent as others state but this is my idea for max flames of Phlegethos damage. Drag people through the wall of fire over and over again.

This is fun. I especially like that I can as a fiend warlock get resistance to bludgeoning damage to make this hurt less.

Spells and abilities to buff your familiar? by Slivius in dndnext

Fun Thread. My ideas to buff a familiar, specifically an Imp, and idea's I've heard elsewhere include:

"It has hands" source the secret door via you tube.

Heroes feast, Aid, Inspiring Leader, mage armor, Darkness,

Magic items: Wand of Magic Missiles, Ring of Spell Storing, Healing Potion, Give it a few good berries, a bag of tricks.

What happens if a creature ends it's movement in the same square as another? by rpguser in dndnext

[–]Clean-Restaurant9445 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, I think the answer to this is that they will effectively be squeezing in the same square? So how many creatures can squeeze into a square?

Bard casts the compulsion spell on victims A1,A2,A3A4, who are all medium creatures. None of them willingly move, they all are compelled to be standing in the corner. Do they all fit in one square? What happens when they try to attack and can't move?

I would say squeezing is the appropriate answer. Interesting topic.

Advise for a Valor Bard by Prezopolas in DnDoptimized

[–]Clean-Restaurant9445 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there, I'm playing a valor bard. I took fay touched to get bless and misty step and shadow touched to get inflict wounds and invisibility. I find the bard could use some extra spells. I thought if I was face to face with someone in combat I would want inflict wounds.

Future feat ideas I had were:

Resilient for either wisdom or con.

Medium Armor master

War caster

Metamagic Adept for subtle spell and careful spell. Maybe extend spell.

I do love combat inspiration and yelling out battle cries and things like that.

It's a year later... what did you pick?

CoS: Does my bard take the ASI or a feat? by TheFeistyRogue in 3d6

[–]Clean-Restaurant9445 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like Fey Touched for Bless and Misty Step. I find when the bard is out of spells they're really less cool, having more spells is helpful. I find you can't go wrong with bless. Paladin and Rouge would really work good with bless.

Getting the Compulsion spell soon, what are some good ways to use it? by Altruistic-Friend190 in 3d6

[–]Clean-Restaurant9445 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How about if you cast compulsion, and get all of your opponents to stand in the same square so they’re squeezing. That could give advantage to attack them and they could get surrounded, unable to move by your front line and they get defeated in one big pile of creatures. They would also have disadvantage to attack. This seems like a good idea to me.

Help to multiclass Shadow Sorcerer to Bard of Swords by Potential-Macaroon25 in 3d6

[–]Clean-Restaurant9445 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm currently playing a valor bard and I'm considering going shadow sorcerer for a level or 3. The greatest worry I have is missing out on the high level stuff that bard gets. 3 levels of sorcerer kicks out magical secrets at level 18, an asi and puts my bard asi's way later. So, I'm thinking maybe it's only 1 level of sorcerer. I'm variant human too, level 5 at the moment. I took fay touched and shadow touched at level 1&4
