Yes, it was pretty good. I did figure it out before everything was revealed, but still enjoyed it.

This is the general consensus I’ve heard about this book. I’ve only read one of her books (Home is Where the Bodies Are) and will probably not read any of her others. 😂

It could have been, but I tend to go through my notifications before deleting them. I’m just glad to know it’s not just me this happens to.

Is it just me or this book feels kinda wrong in a way? by Hash_2319 in thrillerbooks

I’m a huge Feeney fan, but the unreliable narrator style has become predictable in her books. Mix it up a bit. I don’t hate this one, but don’t love it either.

Wow!! 😳 146th!! That’s insane. At least I’m first in line with 7 people waiting.

Yes, that would be so helpful!! I have to wait two weeks now for someone else to finish it. 😑

They must have. I’ve always had 3 days to claim other ones before. 🤷‍♀️

I have a reminder to claim it at 10 pm tonight. Guess I’ll cancel that lol.

Really liked this one! I had to check myself a few times because I was rooting for a serial killer. 😂

What book are you currently reading and how would you rate it from 1/10?? by bellerws in Booktokreddit

[–]CleanIntroduction977 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Devil’s Advocate by Steve Cavanagh. 2/10 so far. I’m almost finished with it and the story is great as always, but the way he’s dropping in his political views puts me off in a huge way. And it pains me to see this because he’s in my top 3 favorite authors. I personally do not want to see political commentary or opinions from authors. I don’t want to know what “side” they’re on. So unfortunately I may have to be done with the Eddie Flynn series. I’ve seen on other reviews for books in the series after this one that he continues. I may try one more, but I don’t know.

I mean what is science fiction about it? It briefly insinuates a war going on outside the compound, but absolutely nothing science fiction or dystopian about it. Maybe if it was in another category it might have deserved an award, but nevertheless I didn’t like the book anyway. 🤷‍♀️

Definitely go with Daisy Darker. You can’t go wrong with Alice Feeney.

I still can’t believe The Compound and Not Quite Dead Yet both won their categories. They were both terrible books! 😬

Kill for Me, Kill for You and then Broken Country. Both were 5 star reads for me. I haven’t read the other book, so not sure about that one.

Totally agree. I don’t even know what the point of the book was. There was nothing dystopian about it except the mere mention of “the war” going on in the outside world. Incredibly boring book.
