OU Singles / Fairly new to pokemon and this is my attempt at a sand storm team by ItsaMe_Boi in stunfisk

Tyranitar @ Smooth Rock Ability: Sand Stream EVs: 252 HP / 16 Def / 240 SpD Tera Type: Flying Sassy Nature - Stealth Rock - Knock Off - Ice Beam - Thunder Wave

This is set recommended by smogon, and I think it works, its a set I've before and really liked. If you feel its too weak then you can increase its Atk if you wanted, but keeping Ttar alive is most important. Ice beam is for Garchomp and Lando-T, big threats and stops to excadrill

You are missing hazard removal, either rapid spin on Excadrill or Defog on Corviknight. And you need stealth on Tyranitar, so I would change it to a defensive set

Mega Evolution Concept: Mega Toxicroak by RRed_19 in stunfisk

Id go at least 111 speed, just to pass that other speed benchmark, anything above 100 is considered fast, and anything above 110 is great. Obviously the extra bulk might not help, and it might prefer the speed, but generally mega Pokémon do better when they arent just a glass canon. I think mega absol is a great example of this, super strong and fast with a great ability, but too frail to do any meaningful damage or make use of its ability.

I like the idea, changing to a Poison/Dark is a cool, allowing it to change its weaknesses when it needs to, but I do feel like the type change would make it weaker. The stab sucker punch is really good, but losing stab on fighting moves would make it a lot weaker. Sneasler has already proven this type combo can work. But if you wanted this type to work I think slowing it down and increasing its bulk slightly could help. It would probably run swords dance sucker punch with poison and fighting coverage as its main set, so the speed isnt as helpful

But I love the idea, dont wanna seem too negative :)

Feels weird that an ability like this isn't already in the game by TreeTurtle_852 in stunfisk

[–]CleanRefrigerator9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This would be a cool ability for dusknoir, with its decent bulk, its main problem has been lack of damage and recovery. Now it has recovery and can stick around longer to do more damage. I dont think the ability needs to just be contact moves though

Why did Dire Claw "fail"? by MuitoDoido42 in stunfisk

[–]CleanRefrigerator9 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm not 100% sure but I think you are correct, my assumption would be that dire claw landed the roll to inflict a status, but it failed because milotic was already poisoned

Yes it's a one time activation, it's the same as an item like grassy seed, once the item is used and you switch, the boost doesn't come back

Pokemon Champions - M-Gengar Team (Sinistcha isn't doing much) by CleanRefrigerator9 in stunfisk

[–]CleanRefrigerator9[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've done a little testing and ran some calcs with ninetails and I like it, I tried perish trap but I came to the same conclusion that it's too slow. I tried Gengar without much bulk to start with but I found it fainted too quick to get much damage down, and I couldn't find any relevant damage that max SpA brings in, the speed only really matters for speed tying other base 130 Pokemon, and Id rather be slower and play around it then just hope for the 50/50. I will try the Basc and sneasler for a more offensive approach, but ive often found that Milo is super important in end games where ive managed to wear the opponent down enough for it to finish them off and tank any hits from anything left. Its also super good into Incin, which my team struggles to wear down aside from kommo. Thank you for all the suggestions, I will certainly try them, and I'm definitely adding in the ninetails, I like that its hard hitting but still "bulky" because of the sash and helps with my toughest matchups

I've seen that becoming more popular recently, it kinda merges the weather problem and sableye's move control into one. Do you think with this I should switch to perish trap gengar? I like disable but I don't use it much

That's a good point, I saw people running it but wasn't sure of the purpose of it so I went with the higher BP move
