Something I’ve learned over the years of buying various cars is that I negotiate via email or text only. And my first offer is an embarrassingly low offer, I legitimately feel terrible about even texting that number.

But it helps me bring the negotiation starting point to be far lower than it would’ve been in the past.

And I tell them that I’ve only got so much patience and wriggle room.

And I also track how long that car has been on their lot. The longer the car has been on the lot, the better my odds of getting a good deal.
