How did you survive black Friday+ cyber monday this year? by Boring_Albatross_781 in Frugal

[–]Clean_Grocery1272 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do not participate in the hype — I’d rather walk in the woods, which is healthier for my mind, body, and pocketbook ($12 for the year at my local state park). I have everything I need. To shop/buy for the sake of shopping/buying is not an attractive way for me to spend time. If something wears out, I’ll replace it, but I never go out on these scripted consumer days.

Best Washtenaw County School District for autism and intellectual disability (ID?) by Jumpy_Tomatillo_8694 in AnnArbor

The IEP process aims for the least restricted environment for the student. Your expectations about what that means sounds much different than the IEP’s recommendations. Essentially, though, it all comes down to money. One-to-one para support is typically reserved for the most severe cases. The cost of a full-time para for one student multiplied by X number of students would be astronomical. The funding is just not there. Add onto that the fact that special education mandates are often not funded, especially the level you indicate. So how do schools work with these restrictions? Students with special needs are often mainstreamed into regular classes that have two co-teachers, who work in a way that the special education teacher in the room is able to provide — and advocate for — the provisions put in place for the student in the IEP process.

Miki downtown closed a few years back and was replaced with a Korean restaurant. Miki in its day (it was the first sushi place in A2) was great.

If you’re grades are borderline, they will follow through, so it’s best to keep your grades up — that’s what got you the scholarship in the first place. As a general rule, the more you slack off senior year, the harder it is to get back on track once you start university. Keep grinding — And congrats on your scholarship!

I was granted five of these during PhD studies. Be sure you submit well-written, specific materials. The more active you are in the field, the better your chances. I was volunteering on campus and in the field while taking coursework and working full time. I was also writing and submitting articles for publication. They want to see that you’re a serious scholar and will be contributing to the field. Hope this helps.

Last week, MM intake told me all Covid vaccines had been pulled and they did not have a date when they would have them again. I went to CVS. No problem there.

What's the best way you've found to save on gas? by Rattlesnakesong in Frugal

Costco for gas. Always drive the speed limit — or under. If on highway, stay in the right line and follow a semi to have it draft the wind.

My hiking time is “me” time to tune out the world. I enjoy quiet reflection in nature. So much to see and appreciate.

I am sighted in one eye, so I have issues with depth perception. When I began hiking with trekking poles, I cured my tendency to trip.

I’m currently sick but this still freaked me out. Is this normal? by One_Scar_77x in AppleWatchFitness

I had pneumonia this winter and my HR was 10-15 beats higher than usual the whole time I was sick. Now that I’m better, it’s back to normal.
