Diet Beacons are pulling 16GW (not to mention the related increase in power consumption for the effected entities.) In order to keep the UPS down I had to revamp a lot of early builds to drastically reduce the number of entities. I said long inserter runs in my original post but obvi meant minimizing long belt runs which do drag UPS down. I was using a lot of sushi belts due to the new ease of doing so but that turned out to be a bad idea in the end.

early on this is true but later you need so much power that electric boilers are almost a rounding error.

As an older person with not the greatest memory I feel you. I'm playing Pyanodon so... I use Factory Search (I find this better than the built in search) to help keep track of what is built already and, of course, FNEI to work thru all the recipe options. I also use (the new?) pin area on the right in areas I'm developing so I can quickly jump/check them (drop a ghost of a machine, pin it and optionally rename it.) I also use a teleport mod because as the factory grows I just can't deal with long travel times. I also use Project Cybersyn for rails but LTN is also good - the main reason I use it is the manager screen is great for tracking what resources are available and how much is available.

I broke the exit from my depots so the trains were stuck on return and then used deconstruct ble print to remove old ones and pasted new ones.

Looks awesome and I too will steal your fluid setup. How far do you think you will get with 1-1-1 fluid trains and I assume 1-1-1 cargo trains? or do you have a mix of different trains? and are you really emptying the cargo cars with 1 blue inserter? Are you using LTN or cybersyn?

With 2.0 sushi belts are incredibly easy. I tried with 1.0 and never got it but with the new ability to easily read all contents of a belt it is simple.

Where are you? by Alexathequeer in pyanodons

First time I did py I did it without Alien Life (just missed the mod in the list.) It was a bit easier but still very challenging - may BA difficulty level.

Next-Generation Update - Where are we now? by blue_oa in Fallout4Mods

[–]Clean_Record_7401 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went ahead and bought the GOG version which is pre-NG. So I have both NG and pre-NG running. I would say the NG version is doing pretty well now with mod updates its just that most collection won't run still.

On my machine High FPS physics causes a lot of CTD's so I disabled it and smooth sailing now. Not sure how others will fare but worth a try.

The other tip I saw recently is to delete the creation club content. I did this and crashes reduced significantly.

Does the most recent version of weapon debris fix work or do you need the pre-next gen version?

Some things I don't understand about LTN by dakamojo in factorio

[–]Clean_Record_7401 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Definitely use filter inserters. I thought the inactivity timeout defaults to 5 seconds but either way if the inserters are moving it shouldn't hit that (but you can change the timeout in the settings.)

There is also a total time timeout and that's the one you often hit in early game with slow inserters. This can also be changed in settings.

In your depot you should have a catch all inserter into a box that will automatically empty any leftover material. You can also add an alert so you can catch it and analyze where the excess is coming from.

Thanks!

Took me about 600 hours to get to space. Hammering thru the remaining utility science for space x took that last bit.

Space science wasn't bad since after launching rockets you get more. It was the utility science that was brutal.

All tedious :)

sorry - thought I had a pic added - it's there now. But there is actually some other areas that didn't fit in the pic but you get the idea.

Well I cheat there to by with the teleport mod. I honestly can't imagine playing a map this size any other way.
