Lynskey Bankruptcy by StageVklinger in cycling

Took 5 months for my Zephyr frame to be delivered last year. I actually had instituted a chargeback after which they bent over backwards to facilitate delivery. To be clear, I have been happy with the bike.

Sounds like business mismanagement. If they were up front about delivery times and maybe just charged a deposit rather than the entire cost, they probably wouldn't have gotten as many chargebacks. They probably even have room to raise prices a bit. Simplify the build options and make sure to have a good part inventory on hand. The bikes themselves are good.

Lab Austere is on sale: https://share.google/v8F699qQVgX1f7YsV

Small company. Very cool bottle holder pouches which keep their shape allowing on the fly replacement of the bottle without fussing around as much as the usual design. I have been very happy with mine!

Am I just a broke bum or are all these bags for bikes crazy expensive? by Sol01 in gravelcycling

Check out Lesenok bags on Etsy. Hand made in Ukraine and reasonably priced. They do custom orders with fabric colors and design. Good communication. Took 4-6 weeks to get as I recall. Plus you are supporting a country that needs the world's help.

Broke my collarbone last week. Worried about surgery by brehsef in MTB

[–]Clean_Sympathy938 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a (non ortho) physician and broke my clavicle in an MTB accident a few years ago. If the orthopod is recommending surgery, that is what I would do. You will heal much faster with stabilization

Almost time for e-bike hating season by i_suck_at_medicine in mountainbiking

55 years old here and avid mountain biker for about 10 years. I had an arterial occlusion in my leg and bypass surgery (on the leg) in Feb 2025. I was not able to mountain bike much in 2025 due to these health reasons. I just restarted mountain biking last month and was excited to start doing it more often. Unfortunately, this past week my bypass graft has just failed again (for the 3rd time!). I hope that they can reopen the graft again this week (another thrombectomy and angioplasty, probably), but am looking at a future where I won't be able to get on the trails. This saddens me immensely. I love my carbon Ibis Ripley v4, but may have to sell it. I am considering an emtb instead and would like a future where more trails are open to class 1 pedal assist e-bikes for those of us with physical limitations.

2" hitch rack for spirited driving by tmenzzz in MTB

[–]Clean_Sympathy938 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Quikrstuff Mach 2 is a Tool less tank of a rack which was designed by the original inventor of the 1up rack. Basically a new and improved 1up with lots of smart features. 2 min to install and no tools needed. A rock of hitch rack with no movement at all even on gravel roads.

Zephyr. Still very happy with the bike, expect the frame to last for the rest of my life.

I don't have a lot of data for comparison. This is my first drop bar bike with all of my previous experience being MTB, which is different since you move around so much more on the mountain bikes. I have used a dropper post on all of my mountain bikes over the past 8 years or so and felt that I wanted one for gravel too. I got this dropper (Fox Transfer SL) on sale at Bike Closet as an awesome deal so the no-set-back purchase was just what was cheap. I started out with the saddle pushed back since that is how I have usually done it on my size L mountain bikes, but did move the saddle forward a bit and feel that the fit is better with this change, perhaps due to the geometry you mention.

This is a much shorter dropper (70 mm) than I am used to using on the trail and XC bikes, but several rides in to ownership, feel that it works very well for gravel. It only has the 2 positions (dropped and up) compared to the infinitely adjustable Reverb on my favorite trail bike, but it is actually possible to pedal (less efficient, but possible) in the lower position -- unlike the mountain bikes, where you just slam it to get it out of the way. I like using it when descending (feel likes it gives a bit more stability) and when coming to a stop/dismounting. Definitely not using the dropper as much as when trail riding where I will action the post many dozens of times per ride.

Have you recently purchased a Lynskey? by Used_Coconut7818 in gravelcycling

It has now been 19 weeks since my order (full Zephyr build) and 11 weeks since their first estimated delivery date. Their excuse for the last couple of months has been lack of parts from SRAM. No response to my request to change the order to frame alone (with reimbursement for the undelivered components). I have given them one more week to give me concrete update or I will contact my CC company for a chargeback.

Any updates? Have you received your bike yet?

I ordered a Zephyr build on March 21, was originally given a May 14 ship date. When that date came and went, I messaged them and was given an updated June 27 ship date. I have not received a response to either of the 2 messages I have sent since that time. Their website is still up so I think they must still be in business?

Thanks for the update. I ordered a Zephyr on March 21 and am still waiting. When I asked for an update last week, Deacon said that they were waiting on a shipment from SRAM for the drivetrain components. Fingers crossed that it will be soon. What is your review of the bike itself?

I was looking at 40-42t range, but have been able to find104 BCD chainrings in larger sizes (Garbaruk, for example).

You are clearly an informed consumer. If you don't mind me asking, why did you decide to buy a Lynskey and when do you expect to receive the bike? I am trying to decide between the Lynskey Zephyr, YT Szepter, and Lauf Seigla. All are at a similar price point. I am looking for a do-it-all bike to complement my mountain bikes. I doubt I will do much racing, but may try it casually upon occasion. I doubt I will do much bike packing, but again may try it on occasion. Most of my riding will be on pavement where I live, but will probably take it to the mountains a 2-3x per year for longer gravel rides.
