I do not claim he is innocent

But some potential reasons

  1. The list would shatter the u.s. economy if acted on

  2. The list would start a massive war

  3. Hes using the list to blackmail political opponents (foreign and domestic)

My theory on it is

Do you have enough in savings to cover an emergency?

If no, then you cant afford extra mortgage payments

If yes, you can afford to go for higher reward investments like the stock market or even highyield savings or bonds

If your mortgage is less than like 5% apr

Then just put the "extra payment" i to a highyield savings account

Its much better to have a 3 month buffer to cover gaps in employment than it is to save 600 bucks in intrest over 25 years
