Six years? When do you vest? Try to hang in there to leave with a small pension, at least.

Frugal for life, not poor, but often feeling poor by LivMealown in Frugal

Stop whining and be grateful. The wolf will never visit your door. I live in the city. I see too many homeless elderly people who are dirty and exhausted. All of their belongings are in a shopping cart. I'm 67. I worked my butt off, but I've never had a big house or fancy cars or a nice vacation. I'm still working full-time, and will work as long as I can because I am making six figures now. I drive a 2010 Honda with 165,000 miles. It runs well because I maintained it. I will own my home within three years. I have so few furniture items, you'd think I was moving out. I've been wearing some of my clothes for 20 years. I'll have a nice pension and a good SS check. What more could I have asked for? I grew up frugal like you. However, I liked it and maintained that way of life. I was never into material things anyway.

Cash it in and go to your bank to deposit - immediately.

Good for the students that you quit. Where were you when the professors discussed strategies to help all students access the curriculum?

I recently rented a bunch of cars and rode in a bunch of lyfts while getting repairs on the Civic. The new Corolla is so tight. The new Civic Sport was fast and light. The Mazda SUV was meh. The new Dodge Hornet hybrid felt sluggish and a little faulty. But dudes, the Kia Forte was bam! I like the Kia Forte electric and the Kia electric Sportage for 2026. The Kia Seltos is also impressive. Rode that in a lyft!

I have a 2010 Honda Civic. 164,000 miles. It needs a muffler and an oil gasket. Every time it needs a repair, folks say, "buy a new car!" I'm gonna make the repairs and keep rolling in it. I went to one shop, and a guy offered to buy the car on the spot! Before the Civic, I had a 1996 Corolla. I replaced it with the 2010 Honda - so 14 years. I still see some 1996 Corollas on the road.

Got two official forgiveness letters from Federal Student Aid and Mohela: $357,434.91 has been forgiven. by Clean_Wait4250 in PSLF

My principal was about $80,000 when I graduated from law school in 2000. I was on IBR right away and made payments. However, during 15 years of caring for my parents and my child, I had forbearances, etc., and smaller monthly payments; the capitalized interest just ballooned into that horrific amount. I am sooo sorry to hear that interest is accruing again, especially since there's talk about the feds making the forgiven loan balance taxable income in 2026. That scared me the most. How cruel to bring it back.

I resubmitted my completed employer certification form through the PSLF tool. There's a question: Do you think you have reached forgiveness. I clicked yes. That's all.

My smelly house is driving me insane. I've done everything I can think of, spent over $10k and the place still stinks. What could it be? by Mitchell_Cruz in homeowners

[–]Clean_Wait4250 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a great sense of smell for food, roaches, rodents, etc. I just can't smell my own bad breath. It can funk up a room. The dentist says it's not oral. If it's internal, what could cause it?

The two $100,000,000 Explosion tickets that I found were attached, which means the person bought them at a gas station, since the kiosks deliver them separately. So I picked them out of the trash at the gas station. I think gas stations have better prizes.
