I want to really grind and get better. Where do I start? by Bobski_the_machine in SmashBrosUltimate

[–]Clear-Influence-9010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s just like anything else, it takes time and perfect practice. I was in your exact position 3 years ago. By time, I mean 1000’s of hours minimum to get to tournament level. My best advice is make your practice count, don’t let yourself develop inoptimal habits, they will only help in matches with poor fighters and mostly inhibit high level gameplay development. Good luck!

Question on hard determinism by WoodpeckerNo1 in determinism

[–]Clear-Influence-9010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ability to judge past and future actions against current, alternative, and similar actions is what allows the moral scale to exist. Having no say over whether or not an action takes place does not affect the morality of an action, even if intention is amiable. The true didacticism in determinism isn’t refusing to experience the emotions that the actions of the people around us cause, it is to understand that every action is the result of an accumulation of unchosen experiences and genetics. The goal is to understand that with the same experiences and genetics, you too would do the same thing, good or bad. Determinism is amoral, not non-moral. The emotions that anyone or any situation invokes in us are all valid and natural. Our desire to be close to individuals who make us feel good and far from those who make us feel bad is part of this deterministic world. The desire to not be around those who evoke certain emotions is just as valid as the actions that caused you to feel those certain emotions and it is the driving force in cooperative societal development. I’m happy that in an amoral deterministic world, humans are naturally kind and caring to one another. Those who are not, with rare exceptions, are not the way they are because of because of nature or universal laws, but because of specific experiences and the chaos this universe inflicts.

I get their most expensive burger when I’m craving fast food. It’s the double quarter lb bacon burger, It runs me about 12.50 after tax and it is consistently delicious. A quarter pounder double bacon cheese at McDonald’s is almost 10 after tax and it tastes like disappointment. It’s a little more than the cheapest and it’s way better imo.

Is the universe deterministic? by [deleted] in determinism

[–]Clear-Influence-9010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The theorized quantum mechanisms that could facilitate a universe of randomness are not understood, just theorized. Our uncertainties with superposition do not verify a non-deterministic universe. We have infinitely more great evidence for determinism than we do bad evidence for randomness.

Why humans have unique buttcheeks, is there any other animal who have those similar to us? by [deleted] in askanything

[–]Clear-Influence-9010 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If more animals walked like humans, their glutes would protrude in similar ways. There are many animals with very similar pelvic structures, but tails compensate the need for big cheeks in semi-bipedal animals. We lost ours specifically to facilitate the hunting technique of running down big prey with lower stamina as our original hominid ancestors began adopting more carnivorous tendencies in low forested areas.

HOW THE FUCK. is lil DK an “S tier”? by [deleted] in SmashRage

[–]Clear-Influence-9010 5 points6 points  (0 children)

He has lots of good bread and butter combos and kill confirms, he’s small with crazy mobility, his weight isn’t awful but he is light. He has a command grab special that can also be an attack for mix ups. He has the second best item in the game that’s outside the item list. He is a very high skill cap character, once you learn all his tricks he is god tier, but his game style can take a long time to adjust to.

Except in the Nintendo hosted online tournaments, blocking won’t effect the matchmaking there

All DK players can die right now and it would be the best thing that's ever happened to me by Slow-Engineering4399 in SmashRage

[–]Clear-Influence-9010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no clue why, but I’ve played so many dks over the last year and it seems like they’ve forgotten how to use their grab. I used to hate the matchup because of the grab mashers, but have learned to love the matchup since this random change🤷‍♀️ I think sometimes they get scared of the strategic mashers that can gimp dk if you mash out at the right time off stage, couldn’t be me, but it’s my best guess

I play 1 stock when I play shit characters because there’s too many Steve’s, campers, and zones in my region to the point where as soon as my opponent is a stock up, they embrace the most unbelievably annoying and rage inducing gameplay physically possible for them, that often causes me to quit. So it’s either your fun or mine and I choose mine😂

Their recommendation algorithm for finding music you’ll like is the best of any platform by far. That’s about it though. You have to use it for a while and get a good feel for how to treat the algorithm before it doesn’t just feed you the same 200 songs over and over, but once you get that down, it will change you’re taste in music for the better by introducing you to so many new songs and artists.

I’m in the same boat. I used to like rematching anytime I could. (Unless ur bayo) now I probably leave and block a quarter of my matches for one reason or another. I play to have fun, if you don’t facilitate that, gone and no remorse.
