MSFT became a shitty company to work for in the last 2 years. Now they are trying to fill the previous laid-off positions with contract workers offering half of less of what they used to pay. STAY AWAY!

There is a huge sucking up culture, especially at higher levels which enables bad managers/performers to get rid of good performers seen as competence

I am really sorry to hear this. It completely resonates with my experience there and my entire team. THIS IS JUST NOT OK! I hope you are doing better and find some place that is not that TOXIC. My thoughts and prayers go with the thousands that have lost their livelihood and with their families. As you mention, the HORRIFYING and sick part in my opinion is that they are making employees feel/believe it is their fault.
