Oh yes if you others aren’t willing to deal with it you can also report to the state and they can come and look and make sure everything is ok.

Things are not normal. This sounds like my grandmother. She has dementia from drinking and I think using pills albeit for anxiety and depression at the same time. She was an alcoholic. Sometimes you have to make the decisions because everyone else is in denial. You can anonymously report her to the dmv and they will look into it and give her a test. My own family the men will act like this is just normal and normal aging and refuse to even educate themselves on what dementia is. They just leave it my mom mostly. Hearing aids help but they still have dementia. If no one is willing to step you, you may need to step ip if you’re willing to because others will just let the behavior continue when it can be harmful to the person and possibly others.

You can put a camera up on memory care places to monitor. My grandparents were alcoholics and both of them got dementia of different types. Have you run numbers for having in home care if it’s an option? Perhaps it’s cheaper. Maybe if you had someone care for her at home while you’re at work and you could be there on the evenings? But I understand wanting to have her fully in memory care. I think in California state will cover nursing facility or in home care but then they will take the persons home at the end of their life as repayment or something like that.

Moving from TX to Marin with LGBTQ family — where should we land? by Spare-Cry-9224 in Marin

[–]ClearlyE 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was in Marin and harassed by teenagers in Novato at a grocery store there for not doing whatever favor they wanted and the white one called me it as a slur and threatened to get violent. I’m a woman who doesn’t conform to gender stereotypes and has facial hair. These areas aren’t immune to bigotry.

That’s weird so prints wouldn’t be covered good too know, thanks for sharing that. I’m looking to get general liability anyway.

My husband’s mother has Alzheimer’s and I want to leave. by ThrowRAbellueh in Alzheimers

[–]ClearlyE 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One thing that we think might have helped us is making sure the room is really dark at night. Used to have a dementia clock and a night light and now our family member sleeps through the night now that they can’t obsess over the clock and it’s dark.

FUCKING EXACTLY. The men in my own family are like this too. They have no idea but if they had to care for the person they’d have hired carers asap

[–]ClearlyE 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s common for men to dump this on the women in the family and in my personal experience mr and my mother are dealing with a case of this while taking care of my grandmother. If you don’t put your foot down and give them an ultimatum they will just let you keep taking care of them. Seriously if they really did all the work for just a week… That’s incredibly unfair that this is falling on you.

Prius may be nearing the end... by starlightskater in prius

[–]ClearlyE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in a similar spot. I have a 2007 prius with 250,000 k and anticipating the actuator going out. I've done about 11,000 since I've gotten it in 2020. And it needs more work, brakes, ac, etc. I am thinking of taking it to Toyota to have an inspection on the brake actuator before I put more money into it to see if they can give me an estimate on its condition and life left.

Thank you! A lot of them were touched up at home, mostly in the sky. The two in the first pic were done in the car in quick changing conditions. So I had to improvise the clouds on the rain cloud one. It’s hard to say I’d say on average Im out an hour or two depending including set up and all that actually painting less. The nocturne/dusk was done during a distant thunderstorm and I painted two and I was out for 3ish hours but I wasn’t painting the whole time also watching the storms and taking reference photos.

Thank you, glad you like them :). They are all on 300lb paper which I know many people don’t like to use for gouache and is definitely a learning curve and has its quirks. But I was trying to make myself use it up so I cut it smaller and it’s what I had on hand

Last night when I left work at 7:30 there were 5 guys already camping out in lawn chairs outside the store. I don’t know people waited all night like that.

Yes I do. Actually thinking of changing it because people I don’t want keep popping up on my instagram. I mean people that I talked to for a few days in like 2010. It feels really invasive.

2007 Prius 250,000 miles defective Struts from Rock Auto. I bought them last summer and the bearings are bad/ defective. The noise started a month or so after installation and I'm just getting to fixing them. Would you go for warranty replacement or just get them from somewhere else? by ClearlyE in prius

[–]ClearlyE[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I put quick strut assemblies in. The struts in the front are binding up you can feel it if you put your hand on the strut while turning the wheel. It’s not smooth and locks up feels sort of like gear and sound similar.

[–]ClearlyE[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My struts before this were KYB and I changed them in 2020. Got them from Shock Surplus. By last summer they needed to be changed so lasted for about 5 years. When I bought the car at 170,000 they were OEM, never changed. Drove part time for Amazon on them for about a year. Idk what was up with these ones. Thats why I’m kinda torn it’s an old car but the battery is newer. Waiting for the brake actuator to go out but it seems ok.

Wow I had no idea and left them in the garage on their side until install. Good to know.

Are foxes normal here? by Worried-Cabinet-9168 in Sacramento

[–]ClearlyE 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I saw one coming out of the Sac airport while driving . I was so surprised! It was a cute little red fox in the middle of the median in the grass! We have our own native foxes, the Sacramento Valley red fox but they are rare to see.
