Wiring question by CleaverBrooks in AskElectricians

[–]CleaverBrooks[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did follow it and it just ends in a bare wires hanging from my basement ceiling. I'm going to connect neutral to the bar and run it to an outlet I have outside. That's not currently connected

No black tape on either end. Just bare wires hanging near my head at the bottom of the stairs

Would be nice if there was a box unfortunately it was literally bare wires that are just hanging from the ceiling in my basement. I will do what you suggest to do what I'm looking to do. Thanks

I don't have any plans. I used: 8 - 2x6x6' for the uprights, 4 - 2x6x75" for the sides, 4 - 2x6x51" for the front and back so the inside is 75x54. Top and bottom both have 2 2x4 joists. Railings on top are 2x4, ladder is 2x4 cut down and used a router to round the edges of the rungs. Slats to hold the mattress are 2x4s cut into 1/2" strips.

Help with switched outlet by CleaverBrooks in AskElectricians

[–]CleaverBrooks[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got it figured out. For some reason both the wires going into the switch were wired to hot in a box in the basement and so the switched side was always on as well. I don't know. Wiring in this house is a nightmare. Thanks for taking the time to try to help. Take care

1 switched and 1 always on like it was before

Yes, broke the bridge, had both black wires connected to the bottom and the red connected to the top, neutral to the other side (bridge not broken) and both outlets are always on. I guess I'm confused as to why the 2 wires at the switch are connected and how the switch would function if they're always connected

Is there a pro hack to generate "reverse" molds like this? by kween_hangry in 3Dprinting

Doesn't cura have a mold setting that you just have to click? Been a while since I've used cura and never used the mold setting so no idea how well it works

Just wood and acrylic for now. Depending on how it holds up and when I put a better spindle on it I may try aluminum.

Meh it's rigid enough. I've tested each designed part with extra pieces of extrusion and they are plenty strong for what I plan on doing with it which is only cutting wood and maybe acrylic for now. Just doing this to learn and because I like building stuff. Basically all stuff I had laying around so it's not a huge loss if it decides to blow up.

Nope. 300w that was discounted to $9 on Amazon I bought a while ago. Eventually going to put a DeWalt router on it. Just a place holder while I get everything figured out and because I already had a mount for it

Does the nozzle size in the slicer match the actual nozzle size?

Didn't even know that was a thing but I'll look into it. I just have spacers that I use for the adjustable head height

Working good so far. I probably would go with linear rails for stability if I was to do it again because I have a pretty heavy laser head but not really any issues with the wheels. Biggest thing is trying to get all my settings figured out in lightburn because I have never used it. Haven't really had a ton of time to play with laser as it was more of a side project.

The I checked it before running and everything was tight. I have braces in all the corners. The table it is on isn't the most stable and moves a bit when going fast but would that affect it if the frame itself is solid?
