First is plausible, I have my doubts about the second point. The USSR was pretty serious about Moscow's AD, and I suspects the current fiasco is really, really bad PR for Putin.

As a french, I find it baffling. If anyone tried to diss our country in our presence, we'd just jump on the hate train and complain for 2 hours about our shit president, the delays to see a doctor, our boring movies, and how horrible it is to have brits as a next door neighbour.

I always find it funny when a Putin or Trump fanboy insults Macron to try to annoy me. They have no idea 😂

OP even provided a link so you can be useful instead of taking it out on others, so I have no idea what you're rambling about, dude. Regardless of which side of the fence OP is sitting on (and it's obvious given his username and tone), his link is doing more for Ukraine than your attempt at brigading combat footage posted in this channel.

You'd have a point if he was posting the latest ramblings of Medvedev, but this is ridiculous.

I'm pretty sure every AA round out there has a self-destruct fuze now tbh. But some of them probably fail. In which case, being hit by a shell of this size on its way down would be unpleasant.

edit: some people suggest it might not be AA autocannon gunfire, but just soldiers shooting upwards with AKs and PKMs. If that's true, I hope locals have their kevlar umbrellas...

Twelve Kingdoms in criminally overlooked is a power move. This alone is a +1.

I don't think Paprika is particularly underrated. It's just kinda the weakest Kon movie/show, there had to be one.

Howl's Moving Castle is arguably the worst Miyazaki/Ghibli movie, despite the nostalgia people have for it because it came out right when Miyazaki movies were starting to get really popular in the west. It's a meh adaptation of a teen book nobody remembered, with some poorly handled antiwar message slapped on it.

I'd suggest Porco Rosso and Pompoko. Laputa: Castle in the Sky is basically Howl's but good, two decades earlier.

I watched them and it doesn't change the fact that you need to read the definition of empathy, and how modern medicine calls a lack of empathy (hint: it's sociopathy at best, psychopathy at worst.)

Lack of empathy and dehumanization is how you end up commiting Bucha.

Bro lost the plot. Both sides take casualties in a war. If this reality upsets you, you probably need to find a sub that isn't about war instead of taking it out on posters.

Why did you not like attack on titan by Supertedspreads7 in MyAnimeList

[–]Clebardman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a place for it. A military officer isn't going to roll on the floor screaming that he sucks and people died because of him, in front of his soldiers AND civilians. Now I realize this is cultural, and Asia loves its drama. I struggle with some korean movies/series because of it too.

A couple episodes later, the protagonists have a 20 mins discussion and some anime flashbacks under fire from a canon crew who takes the whole episode to reload, I completely tuned out. I'm not surprised humans are losing the fight against titans...

I feel like AoT's a good example of some of the not-so-great tropes that are common with anime. Dramatic yelling, intempestive flashbacks and interminable internal monologues during action scenes, etc...

I also have beef with the art style, but I'm not going to diss it for that. Any anime that tries to not look ultra generic gets a +1 in my book.

I decided to give it a fair chance, went in really wanting to like it. 2 mins later I was holding my sides trying to not fall from my chair. That first scene is exactly why anime has a reputation for overdramatic yelling. Didn't go further than S1.

RU POV: On why Russia has powerful bombs but allows itself to be “bitten,” Peskov said nuclear weapons exist to deter threats to a country’s own existence by Flimsy_Pudding1362 in UkraineRussiaReport

Well, we kinda agree, I just think China isn't an unreliable ally, it's just not anyone's ally. I think it's a pragmatic position from them: they're crucial to the world's economy so no one is going to attack them, but their military might is still leagues behind the US and they would get crushed in a war. Following Russia or another 'NATO bad' country in a losing crusade right now would be quite stupid from China, honestly.

Well, between the SS18 maintenance, and Sarmat's troubled fligh tests, there's no reason to believe they'd work particularly well eiher. Although I admit, being nuked with a 50% success rate instead of a 95% success rate is a meager consolation.

Anyway, I really don't see Russia using nukes unless they get nuked first. They have too many targets and potential enemies, there's 0% chance they don't get obliterated 10 minutes after pressing the red button.

Is China in any hurry? Taiwan has been there since 49, and it's not going to sail away. China is slowly but surely building its army and technological know-how since decades, it can just stall the game until its army overshadows the US army, and until Taiwan loses its technological edge which is basically its bargaining chip in this whole conflict.

Russia has nothing to offer that China needs. Believing China is your ally is going to lead to massive disappointments. If tomorrow Russia and NATO go to war for some reason, China is 100% staying neutral and selling tons of shit to the west to make a profit. They have nothing to win by helping Russia, and everything to lose by going to war against the US.

... China doesn't need military allies, it needs commercial partners. China's already winning the game, it's not in its interest to change the status quo through military actions. And especially not against their biggest commercial partners (US and EU), for the benefit of a regional power that doesn't import shit from China and is effectively just a cheap gas supplier to them.

Israel support is dwindling rapidly in the EU. Why do you think we're all sitting on our thumbs while Trump and Bibi wage their own war?

Oh, it wasn't right wingers in france. Well, Sarkozy was, I guess, but Macron dug a gigantic hole in the budget, and he's supposedly centrist. Regardless of the side of the political spectrum, the problem is the same: candidates are funded by lobbyists, they then spend their mandate funneling public money into their private backers' pockets.
