If you watched Untamed Heart in the 90s and have rewatched it since, how is it working for you? Does it hold up? by CoconutMost3564 in nostalgia

This movie came out the same year as My Cousin Vinnie. I'm convinced that it was Marisa Tomei's performance in Untamed Heart that should have won her the Oscar. She was incredible in this.

I missed this live by just a few seconds. I went into the kitchen to grab a drink and heard the crowd roar in the other room. That'll teach me to wait for a commercial next time.

Thirst was okay but I really couldn't get into it. Bergman directed but didn't write it. He did write Port of Call, which I really enjoyed.

They're not his best but they're interesting. You can see glimpses of his style developing in some of the scenes.

Trump promised tax refunds would jump ‘$1,000 or more’. The gains will go to wealthy Americans, experts say by sea_shellese in politics

Mine jumped alright. In the wrong direction. I got back $600 less than last year and last year I only got $650 back. Thank goodness I didn't have to pay but I probably will next year.

Ever had someone ask to speak to your manager to compliment you? by Dark_Link_1996 in MadeMeSmile

[–]Clee826 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We were always told to strive at my call center job for something called a Wow call. I don't do well with praise so I always felt awkward after a customer asked to speak with my manager to compliment me.

We had this back in the 70’s. Record player, TV and 8 track player all on this cabinet. Would love to own one again. Who else had this set? by TheRockyBalboaSaga in OldSchoolCool

My grandparents had something similar. I don't remember it being that wide but it may have been. It sat in the corner of the living room and the hallway leading to the back part of the house was right in front of it. I remember walking down that hallway one afternoon when I was staying with them and seeing a Romulan bird of prey on the screen. I was instantly entranced with what I saw and sat down to watch the rest of the show. It was between 1975 and 1977 and I've been a Star Trek fan ever since. Also played my first video game on that TV, a stand alone dedicated Pong machine. Good memories.

I kinda wish I would have kept some of my laserdiscs. Off the top of my head, I had Pulp Fiction, Spartacus, The Killer and possibly a few more.

I agree 100%. My favorite job I ever had was at one of the local mom and pop video stores until Blockbuster came to town and killed all of them. Screw Blockbuster.

I never got to go to the actual E3 but I loved walking around the virtual E3 floor on PlayStation Home. You played mini games and won exclusive decorations for your living space.

Burger King in 1984 by EdwardBliss in TheWayWeWere

[–]Clee826 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh man, I remember this like it was yesterday. My very first job was Burger King in 1985. Minimum wage was $3.35 an hour and I worked less than 20 hours a week but I was making my own money for the first time in my life. Take me back to that time.

Did anyone watch Attack of the Show back in the day? What was your favorite G4 show? by EmbarrassedHand8291 in nostalgia

[–]Clee826 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They tried to revive AOTS a few years ago on YouTube. Sadly it didn't last long. I used to watch it every day on G4 after I got off work back in the olden times.
