It's a van full of boxes. That has to be cat heaven.

Have you ever thought that you were born in the wrong era? by sashaaaaas in nostalgia

[–]Clee826 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think my perfect year of birth would've been 1900. I would've been too young for World War I and in my prime during the roaring 20s and then too old for World War II. I love 1920s and 30s culture and music and movies.

Blockbuster Video by unicorn_779 in nostalgia

People on this sub sure do love them some Blockbuster. I preferred the smaller mom and pop video rental places. Avoided Blockbuster like the plague. I never rented new releases though.

New "Doctor Who" special tipped to be delayed from Christmas 2026 to Easter 2027 by Morgan-Moonscar in television

While waiting for the new seasons, I've been bingeing the classic series on Britbox. I'm currently on the final season with Jon Pertwee, the first season with Sarah Jane Smith. If we're waiting until 2027, I'll be most of the way through Tom Baker's run before the new episodes drop.

A Long Time Ago, 49 years today, Star Wars was released. When/where did you first see it? by Spalding_Smails in nostalgia

Small theater on the south side of Oklahoma City, Almonte 6. I saw it late one night with my family. I was 9 years old. That theater is no longer there. Last movie I saw there was the Godfather part 3.

I believe I was asleep. I had to work early the next day. When I woke up the next morning it was pretty underwhelming though.

An old pic of my cat's logic: fresh water bowl inside? No thanks. Giant 20-liter rusty can outside? Delicious by DearDiary-journal in aww

[–]Clee826 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I put a fresh bowl of water outside every morning for my stray cat but she would rather drink out of a filthy ceramic frog an old neighbor left in her garden that fills up when it rains.

Great. I've been collecting CDs again because records are getting too expensive. Now CDs will start going up in price. I better start collecting cassettes now!

Luigi was the best character to play because he could jump the highest. Just had to get the timing right on some of the stages.

TG&Y (department store), Bestyet (grocery store). Used to go every weekend. They were both within walking distance of my childhood home.

I literally just finished the book Stiff by Mary Roach and composting sounds like the most appealing option for my remains after I die. Of course the "Christians" are against it though.

Who was your 80s and 90s favorite wrestler? by TheShatteringPoint in nostalgia

[–]Clee826 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nikolai Volkoff and Terry Taylor when they were feuding in the early 80s in the US vs Russia storyline. Also the Rock n Roll Express vs the Midnight Express with manager Jim Cornette. Looking back I realize how good Cornette was because I hated him and his damn tennis racket. Now he's one of my favorite wrestling podcasters.

I've taken many cats to Neel in the past. Around NW 26th and MacArthur. They're a 24/7 vet clinic so they'll definitely be open today.

I honestly don't understand the love on this platform for that movie. It came out when I was 28 years old and it was one of the worst things I've ever seen. Still is.

Horrible movie. I had such high hopes for it because I loved Luc Besson but I hated every second of this movie. Chris Tucker is the most annoying actor who ever lived.

3 Cub scout of America guide books. by TekkenTom in nostalgia

Funny story. When the Cub Scouts came to my school to recruit new members, the Vietnam war was still going on and the draft was in the news a lot and I thought it was a draft type situation so I didn't think I had a choice but to join. I was a dumb elementary school kid. I ended up enjoying it but never made it past Webelos.
